Had a blast last weekend at RRR. I hope the club can make it back there in the coming years.

I am in the midst of learning my traq mate. Talk about eating up a lot of productive time. Anyway, the best lap time I had was a 1:23.5. Still a lot more available in the cajones factor. Man the run off room is small.

Does anyone have other times to compare? just wondering how ugly that time is.

Welcome to the forums Brandon! Hope you've got thick skin

1:23's aren't bad at all at Roebling ... you'd have been top 8 or so based on the last time we ran time trials there

1:23s sounds pretty good to me. Last year I ran 1:24 with passenger and 1:22 without. On a mix of stock Supercars and Nitto R2s scrubs I had left over. Carbotech XP10 pads. T1 bars. The rest was stock. 02 Z06.

We went down a month or so back and I had fresh Hoosiers. No lap times though. My camcorder died 1st session out. Which reminds me. I gotta go find a replacement for it soon.

Several things will need to happen for us to go back to RR:
1) New track management
2) Attentive corner workers
3) Improvements to bring the track up to date and attract participants.
4) Did I mention, new track management?

As a drivers it was always one of my favorate tracks. As an event organizer it's been increasingly problematic financially, logestically, and more recently safety due to poor F&C (corner workers). It was obvious day at our last event that the items mentioned were getting worse. After some 9 years in the business we had come to expect to deal with management on a professional level who can deal with simple day to day
operational activites without confrontation and argument. I'm talking about simple basic activities, like setting up the clubs timing equipment,
opening the fuel pumps for race gas, showing a standing yellow on frist
laps of the first days sessions, setting up marker cones, entering the track at the scheduled time, the list goes on, and on, and on.

CMP replaced Roebling on our schedule. That's an example of a track that had issues, was able to address them, turn things around and raize the bar. It's the up and comming track right now, until High Rock gets
byoned the "moved some dirt round stage". RR is stuck in the 1960's not unlike the SCCA that ownes it but that's another story for another time.

If they want to survive in todays market they will have to change or they
won't be around. I hope they do and we could go back there again.

I hear you on those issues Mark. The two clubs that I have attended, PCA Crown and the Dark Side had issues as well. I think people forget who the customer is. Being that the track operator does not own the track, the customer concept gets thrown out the window.

The safety issues were handled well this weekend. They had a black flag system where they put the number of the car on a dry erase board so you knew excatly who they were black flagging. Worked pretty well. There were a few offs but nothing serious. It's funny, this time they did review the flags and my first time there they did not.

Sweet track though.

Brandon

I was with Brandon at RRR last weekend and had a blast. So far it has been the highlight of my year (despite having fuel system issues).

I have heard the club's viewpoint on RRR in the past and I can only hope that things will change for the better in the future. Until then, I will continue finding non-THSCC events to run down there.

I agree on Roebling. It's a fun track. Flat, good amount of runoff in most places, not so good in a couple of key areas. I like to go down there for my first event of the season to shake off the cobwebs. Especially in spring time when the weather is great. Fall is nice too. Won't go there again in summer though. As far as facilities go you can't compare them to a VIR or RA. They just aren't on that level.

I guess SCCA still owns it since we paid the $5 track entry fee on the 1st day. There was this little gal who was running grid/start and apparently is now the one in charge. Didn't have any real issues with workers not doing their job. Offs caused yellow/black flags pretty quick. So maybe they are improving.

Since we don't get caught up in the track negotiations, as drivers, I can sympathize with Mark's comments. Plus it has been a big gamble for the club to run down there. Groups like Chin and PCA DE and GA/FL regions are from that area. They seem to get enough entries to make it worth their while. It is a long drive and something I can deal with once or twice a year. Not in summer time though.

Repaving that track is probably the 1 thing they have done that helped. Improving their facilities would be nice. I won't hold my breath on that happening though.

Graham... do you have a trackable car yet? I haven't heard about anything since your accident.

I miss Roebling, but understand the issue our club has with them. Since Summit Point is the same distance as Roebling from Raleigh and THSCC does not run there and NASA-SE won't/can't, I guess I may never make it back there.

Sure do Stacy. Took a little bit of work to get the suspension done. The car was setup as a boulevard cruiser. I fixed that.

Now it looks more like this.

Same as the Silver one. 02 Z06. A few more miles. Some added bling. Other than that. Same beast. I did get some Anti-Fedex spray mixed into the clearcoat. So far it's working

I was thinking to myself...there's nowhere near enough painters tape / shelf paper on that car for it to belong to Graham. In all seriousness, I hope to own an EB Z06 in the future. That's hot.

Sorry Brandon, back on topic...move along, nothing to see here.
