Never, say never. I'm not saying we will never go back but that there will
need to be changes. Personally, my view is that it will be a matter of time.

I have to say as much as people say they missed running Roebling,
our attendance was less than spectacular. We incorrectly assumed re-pavement would be a draw and were quite disappointed with the result
of a continued downward attendance trend. We did not lose money running at Roebling and that's not the deciding factor with three strong events we can carry one week venue. At least that was valid until 2009 when the impact of the economy finally impacted our sport. The way things played out this year, by plan or accident, it was a good call not to run there with attendance down across the board. We are averaging 20 less entries per event. Extrapolate that number to our RR attendance and you come up with significant negative numbers. Believe it or not, some groups (thankfully not us) have actually lost money running VIR events.

On the Plus side we have a small following in Florida, Georgia, and Myrtle Beach and any excuse to go to Savannah is valid in my book.

I agree with the financial need to be conservative. I have been to RR about 5 times and every time I go there I find that I like the track. No, the amenities are not as good as VIR, and yes it is a long drive, but the track is fun and a good track to learn on (plenty o run off room).

But judging from the comments I get when I talk about it with people the main comment is that it is such a long drive, so you may find it hard to get commitments for it.

Good luck, just my $.02

I just found out on good authority there will be no regime change at
RR for at least another two years but there is some support for change
down there. Apparently we are not alone in our dissatisfaction with the
current management.

I understand that the last NASA event there last month was a flop... Something about a standing yellow in 1 for most of one race????

I also heard that NASA was now banned from RR due to a few on and off track "incidents".

any truth too this?

When (a big when) the economy rebounds and folks have a little more disposable income, it will probably be about the right time for a "Return to Roebling" event. The track management will be changing, hopefully, and we can count on drivers spending a little extra $$ and making the drive or tow to Savannah.

It really is a nice li'l track with lots of elements to practice patience :)

Plus, a night on the Savannah River-front is worth the trip!!

Just a matter of WHEN :?
