The Dorifto Dogs are having a blast down here at Lemons in ole SC. We arrived Thursday afternoon, tested and tweaked on Friday, and they passed tech with flying colors.
Today Kent was the 1st driver and did well. Tom’s at the wheel now and doing fine. Chris Brown is doing a great job as crew chief, as Steve would say, Inman-esque in ability. Will try to keep you posted on how we’re doing.

Gordon and Cathy Taylor came down today to spectate. Wish more of you were here. This whole show is out of this world! Just too much fun, and the racing is fast (ish) for what it is, and fun to watch. We’ll have lots of video for the next meeting.

Walter ran third and was in the car a little under 2 hours. He would have liked to run longer but they took advantage of a full course caution to change drivers and refuel. Steve is driving now and will probably remain in the car until they call the race for today at 7:30. He’s already had to contend with 2 full course cautions. It looks like some teams may be having tire issues.

The driver changes are currently going well. Hope that continues.

Several cars have blown engines today, and there has been some metal to metal contact. So far we’ve suffered no penalties. Hope that continues too.

Dorifito Dogs are sitting pretty in 2nd place, 1 lap down. Just talked to Vincent, Walter got hit one time and spun around. Other than that, the dogs have had a clean day.

Team Whitney had fuel pump problems again and are a TON of laps down :(

Sean said he had a great time today. I want to get out there tomorrow so bad, but it probably won't happen. He's got my camera so hopefully we'll have some good shots.

When do Bernie and Walter run?

Well, as you all now know, we’re currently sitting in 2nd, one lap behind the leader. The 3rd place car is 5 laps below us, but made up 4 of what they were behind in 2 hours yesterday afternoon before the flag was thrown. Steve was the last driver yesterday and regained the little that was lost when Walter got hit. Due to some earlier wrangling, which is not only allowed, but encouraged, we had a get out of jail free card that kept us from losing time due to the hit.
Driver’s meeting has just ended and cars are starting out to the track. Steve will drive 1st this morning. There will be a quiet time between 11:00-12:00. At noon, Bernie’s scheduled to drive, and Vincent will bring it home with the last seat. More later.

As of 9:38 when the first times of the day were posted, Steve was holding his own, doing a great job maintaining 2nd and keeping the 3rd place car still 5 laps down. After that, the 1st place car suffered a flat-made a very quick tire change, but apparently suffered a penalty and went down several laps. We’ll know after 11 AM if we’ve moved to 1st place. Bernie drives next-no pressure though.

In for Church hour. Dorifto Dogs are 1st. Three laps, at last posting, ahead of 2ndf and 3rd. We hear the Mustang is being crushed-but still no reason. 191, in 2nd, is in the penalty box currently, but don’t know why or for how long. Tire change, adding a splash of oil-will refuel outside of the garage-and ready to roll at Noon. Think good thoughts!

Mustang bought it for having a freaking fast V8. At least that’s the story.

We just dodged a huge bullet. Got back in line at noon-but actually it was 11:59. So everyone in line before noon got busted for starting engines during the Church hour. Entire crew reported to await their fate. When Jay Lamb came up he basically said “Go, and never do that again”. So, Bernie’s on track. The 95 was in the same position so we lost no time to him. That’s a good thing. Just gotta stay clean and keep going. Bernie’s in the car for 2 hours and then Vincent takes over. Walter’s gas man today. We’ll need one top off when we change drivers.

Just another reminder that racing is dangerous. Monster car fire in turn 13. Driver bailed and is ok. Track was red flagged, then they black flagged the field. We’re on pit row waiting to get back out. Will be a little while getting all the equipment off the track. Now lining all cars back on track.

Just happened to surf over to the live stream and noticed the fire. Glad everyone's OK -- that looked pretty bad.
