No can do. The only thing guests are allowed to drive are basically parade laps (paced). No high speed groups. They're VERY strict on this.

Its on the calender, I just won't be able to commit until the last second, as the baby may come any time by then... although I have talked to some friends who said they could help me with the car if Jen goes into labor.

wanting to go bad but also have the "time and place arguement" running through my head, wondering if I really NEED to be up there that close to her due date. 12/11/08

She says go for it... so might just need some good ol peer pressure...

What do your VIR dates look like for 2009? I'd be more than happy to send cash to have dates to look forward to...

BTW: I looked into becoming a member up there... HA theres no way a pion like me could spend that kind of "red lobster money"/ year to then have to pay 150 bucks to run on the member days!!! Too rich for my blood!!

Do it, might be your last chance for a while. I was at VIR 2 weeks before my son's due date. Get that last hurrah before becoming a broken man :)

It's not all bad. You get to push them around the yard in their toy cars or on their bikes. Then in 20 years or so you can go back to the track and play ... :boohoo:

alright Jake, some possible scenarios for you to consider.

1) go to track have good time go home to expectant wife.

2) go to track have good time, get phone call from wife now in labor. break most if not all land speed records on ride to hospital. get pulled somewhere in Roxboro area. meet (insert word) cop, and have story for ages to come of the day your young'in was born.

3) sit at the house two weeks before the delivery date and rake leaves. meander past the track car cursing your fate. grow old before your time.

"some times ya just gotta say WTF" 8)
