I hadn't seen much on here about the OMP seats, so I figured I'd post up some info and pics.

I just got these in the mail from Safe Drives LLC ( http://www.safedrives.com/ )today, OMP racing seats for the Civic. The one on the left is the regular seat ($339). It will be the passenger seat for my instructor. The one on the right is the "Extra" seat ($499) for my fat ass. The Extra seat is really comfortable for a racing seat, way better than the Momo racing seats that my brother is using. These are FIA certified, no back brace required, and the mounting points are on the bottom:

My demon-cat approves of the racing seats:

Roger, which models are those?

I see OMP's entry FIA offering is a tube frame seat. I'd have to sit in one, but the only other tube seat I've tried - some sort of Corbeau - I really hated. Felt like it was putting my lower legs to sleep.

The left one is the OMP TRS, the right one is the OMP Extra. I love the Extra. I'm a big guy and it's wider than a normal seat, which suits me really well. The only other seat that I've spent much time in is a Momo Start, and I didn't like it at all. So far I've only sat in them on my living room floor (My wife loves it when I leave race car parts in the living room!), but I should get them in the car in the next few days. Feel free to come over if you want to try them out.

If you sat in a Corbeau Forza...that would explain why you hated it. I had them in the former Holton Miata when it was mine, and after driving 5 hrs from MD to VIR in them, I was ready for something comfortable, like a bed of nails...They were fine on track, but just abysmal on the street.

I've sat in a couple of other tube frame seats (Sparco, Momo) and they aren't the torture chamber that the Corbeau is.

That'd be great Roger, let me know when you get them into the car, and when's good for me to check them out.

I'll probably pester you with CRX questions too. I'm really, really trying to like this car.

You should come over this weekend, my brother will be here on Saturday to put the cylinder head back on his CRX, which has been sitting in my driveway since CMP. You'll like his CRX, it's gorgeous and very well maintained. Call me some time at 919-272-0235 to make sure I'm home (kids have soccer games this Saturday, not sure what times yet). I'll get some seat brackets from Nam tomorrow and see about getting a seat bolted down.

those seats now support my rear in the e30 and i can attest that while fine for track, they aren't the best for just driving around. I had to stuff some cardboard under the seat pad so i can see over the steering wheel...hahaha

You guys are wusses.

Forza's aren't THAT bad, but you knew I would say that.

I think that it also depends on the volume of ass that you need to accomodate. Seats that are fine for all of you little people out there do not necessarily work for those of us with more Michelin-Man-esque physiques

Forzas are that bad...but they're cheap. It is a classic case of getting what you pay for. For a pure track car, they're fine.

I took one of them to Phantasm today to check out mounting hardware. The Sparco mounting bracket and Sparco sliders they had bolt right up to it and are relatively inexpensive. It looks like it's going to be really easy to get these mounted in the car.

Are we talking about something that just bolts right into the floor of your car?

Yep, they just bolt in. I put them both in today, it only took a few minutes. I drove around for a bit, went to the kids soccer games, went down to Phantasm, and the Extra seat is very comfortable.
