One question... not sure where the 'adapter' you mention fits in, unless it's due to jack size.

This adapter connects your 2-way radio helmet system directly to your Chatterbox unit. Here's a picture of the adapter:

A 2-way radio helmet system will either use a NASCAR or IMSA style plug. The plug to the Chatterbox is a miniDIN6 round plug. My adapters have either a NASCAR or IMSA female plug on one end and a male miniDIN6 plug on the other.

A 2-way radio helmet system looks like this:

And when I say ear buds, I don't mean the kind that you connect to your iPod. They're typically mono, meant for auto racing and have some type of noise suppression protection. You can get generic foam ones all the way up to custom molded based on your specific ear impressions.

Hope this helps.

I must have a Nady that was made on a good day. Bought it back in 2003 when I first started instructing and it continues to work just fine. I am one of the those that can seem to get more life out of things.

Only thing I noticed is that I have to clean the ear pc connections with electrical cleaner once a year. I guess from sitting in the garage all winter long doesn't help.

My 0.02

I do appreciate your response.

Had a feeling that your setup would be along those lines and unfortunately won't help much in my situation. But one never knows til one asks.

My interest was in some part due to possibilities I see in the multi function jacks on the Nady units (and others).

Still, a good description for others who can go that route.

Thanks again,
