Original Willans belts have "aged" out, new G Force six points installed over the weekend in the Miata .... driver side is fine, but the right seat has always been tough to properly adjust the sub strap length as the adjustment hardware is buried under the rear of the seat. So I've used eyebolt and snap hook hardware to make it somewhat easier to undo the sub strap and adjust but has anyone found an easier way? Seems like a short adjustable strap that went in-line between the cam lock and the substrap connector tongue near the seat hole would be ideal but G Force doesn't make one ...
Ideas?

Thanks,

Frank

I did mine the same way. It's just a pain to adjust, but not too bad, since my seats are on sliders.

Right, wrong or indifferent but I learned a trick from Dianne Hall to adjust the sub-belt a little long, then twist it like a rubber band to shorten it up a bit.

I'm sure I am going straight to hell for posting that. I'm sure twisting the belt compromises its strength, warms the globe and kills baby seals.

It does work :)

Hey Ryan,

I saw Dianne do that too .... it sure is a quick and easy way to shorten the strap a bit ... actually makes it a bit more comfortable too

Brad - Do you have the G Force harness? The sub strap on the G Force seems quite a bit shorter than the Willans. The right seat is borderline too short when using the factory anchor locations ...

Thanks,

Frank

I saw the team with Danica Patrick do that in the Daytona 24 last year. That girl is a munchkin compared to her team mates so she just twisted the sub strap.

Baby seals aren't that cute anyway. ;)

I have Willans 6-point harnesses with the substraps mounted "Parachute Style" underneath the seats back to the bulkhead behind the seats. Makes adjustment fairly easy, but can also do the "twist trick" for smaller adjustments.

BTW, I don't believe twisting the sub-strap compromises the strength of the sub-strap at all. It may even strengthen it. Think about rope! :)
