Excellent timing! I will be down there this weekend for the HPDE, I'll check 'em out and report back.

Ryan - try to take some rough measurements and pictures of anything you see with potential :) Thanks

PS - there is a roller wheel measurer in the bus, I have used it by opening the car door, putting it on the ground, and driving in 1st gear across lots to measure.

I have one of those measuring wheels at the house. if it is easier for you to pick it up at my house than going to the bus. It has the larger bicycle wheel and is pretty accurate.

If the track isn't rented every weekend. Is it affordable to rent the track for an AX? There are several clubs that use a banked track for AX events. You have the infield road course. Mark V already has all the numbers. Just curious...

Last time I was there, like 3 years ago, I scouted all the lota for autocross potential. There are a number of decent sized lots but the big problem is/was that there are 4' high RV hookup poles ALL over the place on every nice lot that I saw.

B

slalom poles? we wouldn't need courseworkers to pick them up when they got hit. Oh wait,we would need them to pick up car parts torn off........

They had a ton of concrete barriers up so I couldnt get over to the lots this weekend.

I did listen to a long interview with Andy Hillenburg on PRN on the way back from the Rock Sunday night.

-He is changing the name to Rockingham Raceway Park
-He wants to build OTHER tracks for OTHER types of racing on the site (notice the plural TRACKS)
-He is aware of the infield roadcourse and plans to keep it there and running.
-He wants to hear the sounds of engines roaring 300 days a year in the not to distant future.

Sounds like a win-win for the racing enthusiasts. It also appears that it will take less than 13 months for him to get an ARCA race.

Sounds like a winner to me, and glad to hear it. I guess they were correct when they said "the Right guy won".
