Who the heck numbered the turns on that map?? There are only 7, yes 7 turns at the track: Nascar 1 and 2, turn 3 which is the turn into the infield, 4/5 the fish hook, 6 the fast right hander and 7 the turn back out onto the oval. I've never before seen a map with what was it, 9 turns??
Actually Ron to be consistent with the original layout and corner designations there are only 6 turns as the 'Fish Hook' was considered one turn which it is of course... if you have to have it broken up try using 4A and 4B which are more appropriate IMO...
OCTJMO, ICBW... then again I did have a lil sump'n to do with the original layout... except'n naming the 'Fish Hook'... that was thought up by an ol IMSA rac'n buddy of mine from St. Pete who for some obscure reason happened to be there just visiting at the first event or perhaps while we were still installing the guard rail, etc.... we were up in the old grandstands and while gazing out over the infield he turns to me and says... 'Ya know... that turn down at the other end looks like a fish hook...' 'Dang sure does... reckon that's it then...' an that's the name of that tune...

PS: If you think this latest numbering abortion is screwy you should have been at the July 1 Carolinas PCA event at Lowes (nee Charlotte Motor Speedway)... now that was a mess... I've never seen a track where the first turn after the start / finish line wasn't denoted turn ONE... notwithstanding tracks who have actually moved their starting locations due to various reasons; i.e. Mid-Ohio... even so they still use the original S / F as the 'official' timing and scoring and finish with T1 following that... back to Lowes in July, they had NASCAR One as the official T1 (which you don't actually run on) and so forth until you got to the REAL T1 and by that time it was T5 and so on til they had like 12 turns... sheeeshhhh... Hey folks, at Lowes, TI is going into the infield just past START / FINISH, T2 being the banked left hander that follows, with T3 having A & B sections (although I'm pretty sure that by this point the corner stations don't jive (no one seemingly ever having a problem with that)... T4 is the right hand sweeper up to the tight right over the hill T5 leading into the T6 carousel that spits you out onto the NASCAR Oval... where we ALWAYS used the simple, easy to understand, without ever any confusion, designations of the oval portions as NASCAR Two, NASCAR Three, and NASCAR Four... nice and simple soes anybody can easily understand it without even thinking too hard... anything else is nutz...
