Marty,

I have driven a Solara, wanted to buy one for my wife when they came out. I do a lot of work with the Toyota dealer, can't beat a Toyoto for reliability, all kinds of reasons to buy it. I just couldn't do it. It's a camry with a slushbox. Absolutely no fun factor except the top comes off.

Just my opinion.

The best shaped Solara is not the newer ones, in my opinion. The 2003/04 looks much better. A friend has a silver coupe and it has to be one of the best looking Toyotas I have seen. Well, except my purple Celica, of course. Haven't seen that many Solara ragtops though.
