I had some mechanical issues this weekend at Roebling and it really makes you appreciate the community that attends these track events. I broke a CV joint toward the end of the second day and David Salama helped push the car to my trailer, Don Ingerslew provided a hand winch and helped winch it up on the trailer. I got a flat on the truck on the way home and Ron Spencer and Karl Shultz stopped to help out on the side of the highway. Mike Burgun helped with everthing as we caravan together. Thanks to all who make these events not only great to drive at, but great to be at for the whole weekend.

Mark lets hope you broke everything for the rest of the year on this one trip! And what a weenie little jack that came with your truck. No idea how you're supposed to get it far enough off the ground to change a tire. Guess a floor jack is in your future!

Glad it was nothing more than a flat.

I had a great time over the weekend. The CV joint is an easy fix and the spare got me home just fine. I do appreciate the help that I got which made a potential negative experience into a somwhat positive experience.

Ron, I have a small floor jack that works for the track car but is too small for the truck. What type of jack do you have? Mike ended up jacking the truck up so I did not get a look at it.

I'm a newb to towing. To those in the same situtaion, make sure you are equally prepared for an issue with the truck and trailer as you are for your track car. I should have known better and been better prepared for that flat.

Mine is a ton and a half aluminum jack I bought when Sams Club still sold them. Its NOT one of the smaller lighter weight jacks that Harbor Freight sells. They sell both the small and larger one. Get the larger one. About $125 or perhaps less now.
