Looks like South Bend (T10) is about to get a few more visual clues :

Man...

I don't know about that... I keep thinking of that mustang at the Grand-Am practice a couple years ago who's throttle stuck and he ended up upside down in the trees at the top of the hill to the left of the uphill esses... right where this looks like it will be

Will these be condos or high-end hotels?

I mean... a golf course is one thing, worrying about hitting a stray ball into someone's window or something... but now we gotta worry about driving a car into someone's condo?

Yes, when coming for the uphill esses when your car is align with the 2nd window of the 1st floor of the 3rd villa, start turning.

Yea , I remember when golf courses weren't lined with homes too. Liked it better ...

According to the the VIR webpage they will legally be townhomes. Gated entrance with a homeowners association. VIR will also run a rental pool for owners who wish to rent. Ralph Lauren furniture extra (I'm serious). Starting at $450K.
Plans show clusters of these extending from Oaktree to SouthBend, to be built as demand warrants.
Perhaps a Ferris Wheel like the 24 hour races is next? :-)
They do have plans for a youth camp too ...

Then the owners will start complaining about the noise from those"nasty little cars ". We paid $4M to live in the countryside and we can't even hear the birds and the crickets. Then they will start leaving out food for the deers to attract them, then.......

Same as the people who move into a neighborhood next to an existing airport and complain about the planes...

Rob, I think you're missing the point. These are being sold to racers who want a place *at* VIR, not to locals who plan to actually live there. They are part of the race track, not just something near it.

I considered buying one, but just didn't feel like it would be the best long term real estate investment. Hope they prove me wrong, though.
