I saw that video the other day on another forum and someone said it was some type of GT based series in the UK? You have to ask why it happened and someone said they were on slicks and that it just poured the rain down on part of the track before they had a chance to stop the race. It seems like some of the drivers were going a bit fast for the conditions even before the accident happened.
It reminds me of a number of years ago. I had convinced a friend to drive to Mid-Ohio with me and he wasn't really a race fan, but went with me. He was grumbling after the long drive about it not going to be much fun. We entered the track via the north gate (puts you directly onto the rear part of the track) and came up on the 90 deg right hand turn on the back corner (don't know the corner names or numbers for the track) and it had just started to rain and we watched about 5-10 cars slide off just as we drove up. It apparently was raining on the very back where we came in and nowhere else. My friend said "maybe this is going to be more interesting than I thought!"
I used to go to Mid-Ohio all the time to watch races and I still remember the first practice in the morning after a whole night of rain. The F440s came down the strait after the keyhole and the first 10 or so missed turn 6 and went strait off into a dirt mound. Sounded like mosquitos being swatted. eeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyphut!
