I’m at Road Atlanta this weekend, today went good, the weather clear up this morning but it was pretty windy. There is a lot of fast car here this weekend. No rev. limiter in 5th gear this time the newer transmission with the longer ratio is just good. I didn’t particularly check the RPM at the end of the back straight today but I will try tomorrow. I did a video with my digital camera its good but when I uploaded it to Photobucket it lost some resolution but it still acceptable. Here the link for it.

Tomorrow weather, less windy and warmer

Back late last night. Weather yesterday was perfect sunshine and cool.
The car ran like clockwork :D Make some new friends the one in the video in front of me with the 944 turbo was a nice guy and fast. There was a guy with an M5 not the newest one the one before that was fast. I was barely faster than him, he was faster on the straight but i was faster in the corner. For a 4000 lbs car that's impressive. The guy that pass me in the video with the GT2 was ass.... yesterday after i let him pass instead of staying offline to leave me some room under breaking for the corner he just cut back right in front me. We almost touch. We had a small talk afterward, even if he apologize he is a still an ass....
Beside that it was a wonderful weekend. They are repaving the track this winter, will be interesting to see how it will turnout.

seriously? thats the first of heard of this...

it has been getting pretty bumpy there in the last few years and i've been wondering when they were going to repave it...

edit: just saw a thread about it on bimmerforums, looks like it might be more than just a repave...maybe some changes to the track, specifically t12, i hope they don't screw that turn up!!

Cool! Looked like a nice lap time. The gear change seemed to help on the back straight.

Wish I could have made it off the waiting list. I'll have to wait until next March now. Hopefully it will have the new pavement and not too much change.

Only the one that have enough money to buy a GT2 or a GT3RS

On the repaving the PCA region that was running the event have their January event cancel because of the that. Not that sure
it will be finish by March. I heard form people over there that they want to make more runoff area on the track. Something related to the Panoz IRL chassis. Not sure if they looking for an IRL race or it's just for testing the car.

Graham, there was a Silver Z06 there like yours he was behind at the start of one session and he was not able to keep up. :D The M5 was faster than the Z06.
For the top speed I hit around 6100 - 6200 rpm that 136-138 mph.

I know that Panoz Racing school is scheduled to have a 3 day racing school there in early February... ask me how I know.

Yeah, you never seem to hear ANYTHING good about GT3RS owners. 8)

In the 914 world some like to show up at PCA track or autocross events with "NARP" stickers on their cars. NARP = Not A Real Porsche. Just a way to have fun with all of the other snobby Porsche owners who don't think a 914 is a "real" Porsche. The question is, would you rather be beat by a 30 year old Volkswagon or Porsche?

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Richard.

There was a 914 park beside me at the track. It was setup for vintage racing with a 2.5L. with 916 style fender, small spoiler on the deck lid.
It was a very nicely setup car, On one session Saturday I was able to keep up with him and pass him.
On Sunday either they change something on the car or he put is head down but on the session where I was behind him at the start of it
I was not able to keep up with him that time. You should make your car like this one. I think it was the same years than yours. Also old 911 like mine are look at the same way also.
Bah, it's an old car it will be slow, but when they see that they cannot follow they change their mind.

That's it. I was going to let you sit in it, but now, no way!

But you're right, everyone knows that unless you have *at least* a 997 GT3RS you don't have a real Porsche. AIR COOLED? How archaic.

;)
