I wonder if any of these geniuses have ever heard of shrink wrap? At my old job we used giant sheets of it to cover FDA grade tanks for shipment after they were steam cleaned. Just like the kind you see on the big yachts on the interstate. Lay it out, heat it with a modified propane torch just a bit, and it forms perfectly around the surface.

He may have his side mirror's protected, but he doesn't have the trick 'verticle grain' tape job the other guy does. This is to create less drag, and if done properly, reduced turbulence caused by 'stepped' tape application.

As slow as some of them were going, a 4'x8' sheet of plywood on the front wouldn't have made an aerodynamic difference!

So does taping up your tires prevent tire wear as well as picking up tire worms?? 8)

These guys haven't heard of shelf liner or carpet liner... Or it just isn't Ferrari Certified yet

As a reforming waxer I still have the urge to protect the car finish. Using a nose bra and mirror bras makes that part too easy. And I hate car bras, but for track they work. Rolling on shelf liner on the hood and around the lower part of the doors and panels works great. And at the end of the weekend it just comes off easy. Painters tape on some spots on the wheel wells that shelf liner won't stick to so good. I spent an hour putting everything on for my last event. And it protects the car on the trip to and from the track. I swear I get more rock chips driving down the damned Interstate than I do on the track...

Yes, as long as you remember which direction to "wind" the tape onto the tires. Get it wrong and it peels right back off as you drive.

Actually the instructors can drive ahead with the blue tape unwinding off their tires and it shows the proper "line" on the track. :P

Do you think the Ferrari drivers took pictures of our cars and are posting them on their website talking about us poor slobs? Some of them came around our paddock, I guess they were wanting to take a walk on the wild side!

F&S have the Ferarri pic's up on their website, but I'll be damned if I can find the pic's of our VIR-S event on their site.

Wonder why.... :?

You guys won't even spend enough money on a whole motor. They figure you won't buy pictures

I'm wondering too... but then again, it was Thurs/Fri before they had our pics up from North Course too. They are working on them (I've already emailed requesting my personal gallery... so you can blame me for the delay;) )

Same reason the Pro Shop at VIR had a Framed poster of a Ferrari for $1200, oh my mistake it was 25% off, make that $900!

Bingo!

FWIW, I did buy the CD picture package from F&S from our VIR-N event. He does take good shots. Apparently likes some cars more than others.
