I think Chad has some choice words about NT05s if I'm remembering correctly.
I don't know about Chad, but I sure do. I bought a new set of NT-05s for my Mustang because I was told they were decent and just happened to be on sale for $100 off on DTD. After 3 laps at CMP they were like glass and I sideways a lot. Yeah, NT-05s suck, at least they do for a heavy RWD with lots of power and torque.
On the Z06, I can only run Michelin PS2's or NT-05's because they are the only companies that still makes tire sizes that fit on all corners. The Michelins are gone in one weekend, the NT05 are good for 5 weekends. The Michelins have wimpy side walls and run multiple rubber compounds. The outside edges have a very soft compound. This makes them wear the edges off of on a car with 2 deg of camber. NT-05's are a pretty old tire and are getting hard to find. I'm going to have to switch to a square setup with 18 inch wheels if I want to run some of the more modern tires. Until then, the NT-05's are good enough.
