I got here a little before dark, found a good spot, then got told by NASA officials that I had to move because they needed that spot (no cones or other indicators around the spot to mark it as reserved). They told me that I could move to another spot that had cones around it, I could just move the cones over. I did that. Then other NASA officials came over and said that I had to move again. I told them that NASA officials had told me to park there, but apparently those were grid officials and not authorized to give away a race officials parking spot, seeing as how they are just lowly grid officials and all. By then it was dark and the parking area was packed, so I set off on foot with a flashlight to find another parking spot. Two more sets of NASA officials came to find me and tell me that I had to move, explaining that they were going to put 3 race cars and multiple 20' popups where I was parked, like I could possibly care about that. One of them explained that they had gotten here earlier than me so that meant that they could kick me out of any parking spot that they wanted to save for people arriving later than me. I didn't voice my observation that what he just said was stupid. I asked the fourth NASA official (who had found me a lovely parking spot with no access to power at all) where the NASA officials liked to park, and then parked in a spot as far from that area as possible. Hopefully I will not have to deal with any more NASA officials this weekend.
