I left an address but apparently it turns out the new address of the house I leased was wrong, so hoping to get in contact with him. Drives a Black/gold 300Z, not sure if he's active on the forums or not.

That was my brother Austin, I was in the Grey one in Green group, not to be confused with the Grey 2011 on R-Comps in Blue group, lol.

Oh well, I've got a good bit of video of the red Camaro in the last Green session, but none of the Grey one.

Heyyy, alright! Do you plan on uploading the video at any point in time? I had my GoPro facing backwards and my iPhone facing forwards, so I'm certain I have some video of you hounding me :) I plan on posting it once I've got all the videos mashed up together.

You were actually sandwiched between the 2 camaros towards the end of the session I think. I have some video towards of end behind the Duff Beer Civic.

Thanks, it's fun to see myself hooning around from someone else's perspective.

You should be able to hear me hollering at the 944 to back out of the throttle after he gave you a point by. I think he underestimated how slow the civic really is, haha. Mostly it was because I wanted to get the pass in also on the front straight lol.

That happens to me sometimes in the Civic. I catch up to some people in the corners, but it's got poor straight-line acceleration, so if I'm exiting a turn slowly because I have a car in front of me, then they really have to slow down so I can get by in the straight. I had a BMW give me a point-by earlier in that session on the back straight, and I couldn't catch it to make the pass. The driver realized what had happened and did a big lift on the front straight so I could get by. Overall I thought that the passing in Green was very good. I saw several late passes signaled and executed smoothly, with both cars adjusting their line and entry speed to make sure everyone had plenty of room, which is nice to see in Green group, where sometimes people are less comfortable in passing situations.

I did wave off a couple late point bys on the bridge straight just because I didn't feel comfortable blasting by them only to instantly get on the brakes. I started just braking off-line and taking the early apex in turn 7 to keep from possibly making people wonder if they could stop in time, lol. Overall though I would agree that the passing in green group was very good, and this was my first full on HPDE event, I ran the last 2 sessions solo and I know a couple other people were, including Austin in the red camaro, also Miguel in the gold Integra i'm pretty sure was solo in the last couple sessions also.

I think I could use an instructor next go round that's a bit more focused on when to brake and when to get on the gas, mine was pretty quiet, but to be fair I pretty much already knew the basic lines except for the Stevie wonders and those weren't hard to figure out after a couple laps. Also I guess some of that is mostly because green group is mostly focused on how to handle yourself on track, and the basics.

I was very pleased though with the flow of things, we didn't have any major trains of slower cars, and I never once pitted to try and gain some distance. The NASA Hyperdrive I did last year, they really should have black flagged the driver that was holding up nearly every car on track in one huge train. The instructor didn't even bother to make them pit to let everybody by and then I guess they decided to cut the sessions short by several minutes. That left a pretty sour taste in my mouth, not to mention the NASA event was insanely crowded by comparison. I much preferred the much more relaxing environment of this past weekend.

I probably won't make CMP since we're in the middle of moving and that costs money, but i'm planning on hitting VIR-F in September though, can't wait to get back on full course. I might have to look into new pads/rotors since my passenger front for some reason transferred a lot of pad material to the rotor. That could be either front the pads not staying hot enough or the fact I didn't really give enough time for the Hawks to scrub off the old Stop tech material before bedding them. Either way, they're loud as hell right now, and stopping harder doesn't make them quiet lol, they actually started making some noise on track even. The pads were Hawk HP+ which I would honestly expect to over heat if anything rather than not get hot enough, and I had no pulling under braking so don't think the calipers were sticking or anything (Brembo 4 pistons).

I've never tried bedding another compound on a rotor that has been previously bedded, but rotors for a Civic are cheap, so I generally just put new ones on it if I have any doubts. I use stock Integra brakes with OEM 1-piston calipers on the Civic, so pretty much everything is cheap. New front Rotors cost $14 and a reman front caliper costs $28.

HP+ pads are not bad, although as you move from Beginner to Intermediate and start working more on braking, they can be overheated without too much effort. A nice alternative with similar performance and a higher temperature range is a Carbotech AX6. We've used HP+ and AX6 pads at HPDE's, we just have to brake a bit earlier and easier than if we use a racing pad like a Porterfield R4-E or a Carbotech XP8.

I bet you could get the material off by getting the brakes nice and hot - kind of like bedding them in. Maybe the material was transferred during some really light braking, but didn't get scrubbed off due to the brakes not getting hot enough later? I dunno.
