I have the same problem. I can make it through a DE with only feeling midly off. If I enter a race I get horribly motion sick.

Scopolamine is magic.

It's amazing what smooth inputs will do for you James.......................... once an AutoX'er..... always.....

I get motion sick sitting in the back of a co-workers car driving to lunch.

Also people always commented on how smooth I was when I autox'd.

Ohhh yeah, the patch allowed me to do 2.5 hour stints in the Lemons car, no problems.

Only lasted 2 and 1/2 sessions in the passenger seat

Further word to the wise, don't use put a patch on Friday night, take a shower Saturday night, accidentally remove the patch, then put on another new patch.

DO.
NOT.
RECOMMEND.

Heard it here first: don't take showers on Saturdays.

I have a friend I was talking about my experience with motion sickness in the car. They said that while the patch can be great, it has the exact same active ingredient as Original Dramamine: Dimenhydrinate 50mg. The "Less Drowsy" Formula Dramamine, which I took on day 2 and got me right for the full fuel run has a different active ingredient: Meclizine HCI 25mg. He said he was on a very rough cruise ship while wearing the patch, took some of the Less Drowsy Dramamine and became a zombie for about 14 hours. Apparently the two drugs aren't compatible and there is a big warning about it from pharmacies and doctors... Oops.

While I was considering getting the patch for future events, I have decided to stick to my current working formula until it fails me. - AB

This isn't true. The RX patch (Transderm Scop) is scopolamine. Dramamine is dimenhydrinate. It breaks down into Benadryl and a mild stimulant.

At least for me, taking a Dramamine and driving would pretty much guarantee buying VIR some Armco.

And yeah, the scopolamine patches have a 'priming dose' for when you first put them on. I'm guessing that was Ryan's downfall.

The double dose scoplomine didn't do that, it was more like if you remember when you had a VCR tape and you had to adjust the tracking, how the picture would adjust vertically ever so slightly. Yeah, that was real fucking life for the Monday and Tuesday after that weekend.

There aren't many things that feel as good as the pump turning the ice water in a hot ass race car. It's like Calgon* for racing.

*I realize you youngin's probably wont get that reference.

Well, it's a better reference than you used to use.

I would relate it to a nocturnal sexual experience, if you know what I mean.

Go DA integra! Nice driving, how did you guys do?

That looks like a hell of a fun track.

Wait. There was another THSCC based team at that race? Who knew?
