The T11 line was something that Bill Foster told me to try, turning in earlier and trail braking around T11. It turns it into one big smooth turn and I carry more speed through 11-12.

I love my LFB through NASCAR, although I'm not sure that it accomplishes anything beyond making me feel like I'm doing something cool. I'll keep doing it though, because it does feel pretty cool.

The Solo is sitting on my desk with the GoPro I pulled the data and video after I got the rig unloaded and car stowed. I'm stuck in a trade show booth in Augusta for the rest of the week, so I'll do some analysis and make some lap videos with data overlays.

I had a blast. Saturday was brutal in the paddock with all that new asphalt. Lets see those highlight reels.

Here I am on the last lap of the last session of the weekend trying to be an example for Ron to use in the future.

I see the problem there. You drove the momentum line when you needed the high hp line.

I know. The data clearly shows it, but it's just a weird feeling doing it. It'll take a few sessions to get myself to trust turning in that early and fast. After seeing you roll through T10 without braking, I gave it a try and was amazed that I lived, err, it worked. (no brake, down shift to 4th, turn in where I've been taught not to, pray to many deities as you roll onto the gators... do. not. lift.)

Indeed it does. Keep doing it. Eventually, we'll get that clutch-foot trained to be light on the brake. I don't know if you notice it or not, but you pulse the brake with your left foot. (fwiw, your wife was doing the same thing at NCCAR. Imagine that, me lecturing someone on smooth brake application.)

I had an absolute blast this past weekend, and am not sure I've ever had as much fun in a car. Kudos to the club for a very well run event. This was my 2nd HPDE, and I have been really impressed with how well organized things are and how good the instruction is. I also had my first instructor ride-along this weekend, and what a watershed moment that was, to learn what kinds of speed were possible around the track. I'm not certain I would have ever attempted to go as fast I as I did at times, if I had not already experienced it first.

This was my fastest timed run of the weekend:

I think I may have had a faster run during the final session, but I'm still learning to use the timing app, and for whatever reason, it failed to start. I missed the apex in T1, completely blew T2, and am still fairly clueless as how to handle Oak Tree, but I'm pretty pleased overall. I can't wait to get back there next spring.

I also had my first off in T1 during the final session. I had just been passed by that ridiculous Shelby Cobra with 700-odd horsepower, and I was determined to keep up  So much for that idea.

I was playing with video editing SW and got a comparison of a couple of laps of Ricky and myself. The laps were close to the same time, but it's interesting (to me) to see the different areas where we are faster. This kind of stuff helps me a lot figuring out where I can cut time out of my laps:

Pretty sure I found the source of my vibration:

Ironically, I had the axles out just a month or so ago when I put the new clutch in. I checked all the boots and they were fine. I don't know if they were just old and finally cracked or if I ran over something. (New one on the right)

I'm gonna replace both sides along with the carrier bearing on the intermediate shaft.

I kinda wished I'd stayed Sunday and asked for some ride-alongs. Definitely coulda learned something.
