To clarify, we will not be racing next month; we're probably done until Barber in January. I agree with Ryan though, and I'm tempted to go up on Saturday just to watch.

I could crew on Saturday.

Also, I want those Rivals if you still have them for sale.

the new ones have been claimed but i'll have some used tires after the charlotte race if you or anyone else is interested. once a tire hits the 50% mark i can't really use it for endurance racing, but it's still fine for street/autox/hpde.

Yeah, I've got a couple of sets of HPDE tires for the same reason, but I'll take another set if you want to give them away. One thing I do have is storage space.

A short and crappy video of Patriot, although you do get to see the white Corvette drive off near the end. I don't know if he had a mechanical or just didn't think that I was going to give him room, but it looks like he doesn't even try to make the turn. I really need to buy a GoPro and ditch my $29 camera:

Your video shows just how painful the autocross section was. I swear it was designed for a go-kart. That section was no fun for me in the Prelude nor the E46 M3 I drove for one session.

Can you imagine the Nascar Trucks there?

Was that one of the last session of the day? I was talking to George McNeil over by your rig before we left and there was a guy that came by to find out who was driving the Duff car. A Corvette driver. He said he wasn't expecting to have to work to pass a Civic and complimented your driving.

I'm thinking that off was in the last solo session as I was standing at the fence waiting to "hot pit" (not that patriot has a pit.) Everyone was admiring your tire squealing hill climb. Every lap.

I'll have our telemetry at the meeting Wednesday if you want to see just how hard Roger was driving.

Pretty sure after watching that video that we made the right choice on passing up the Chump race. That autoX section near Bitch is going to be pit-in / pit-out for that race. Carnage will be inevitable.....

I think that was the last session. I had just passed the yellow Corvette and the white Corvette had been gaining for a few laps and was behind me in the Spiral, so I gave him a point-by coming out of the Spiral, but I was on the throttle early out of the turn and he hadn't caught me by the time I shifted to 4th, so I coasted until I saw that he was past me, but it may have been too late for him to safely make the pass by then. Normally I don't lift for Corvettes to make a pass in a straight, but normally the straights are a lot longer, so accelerating in 3rd out of the Spiral may have been a bad idea on my part. I was not trying to be a dick, but I really hate to lift anywhere at the bottom of the hill as it kills my momentum going uphill and the Duff car will carry decent speed up the hill if you don't let it get down to where you are lugging it and have to shift back to 3rd. I had done a similar pass earlier with Ricky's instructor in the green M Coupe and it went well, but it did not go smoothly with the Corvette.

And there's the AIM SOLO data from the entire day, for anyone who cares to see how a 100HP Civic out ran almost everything.

We were looking at the data from the last two sessions (Roger, then Me.) It's amazing to see the difference half a second makes... Roger was on the gas less than a second before me in the esses at the top of the hill (near the bitch), by the top of the spiral, he's nearly 1.5s and 1600ft ahead; we're both WOT all the way down the hill.
