I'm pretty sure pro series would look down on that pretty hard.

Work at VIR has been completed; however, I can't see anything on virnow.com, so it might be better to refer to the Facebook page.

I have been following it on Facebook. I can say one thing, from the pics I have seen, VIR paid to have it done RIGHT (versus Summit Point). It should be as smooth as you can expect from asphalt. I saw no corners cut, all the right equipment and prep.

I'm sure we'll get to pay our part, don't worry.

Don't know about the pay considerations. But, by widening the track where they did, they have effectively cut down run off distance to the walls and Armco. So now you have an increase in speed and a decrease in runoff, you figure it out!!! And as far as drainage goes none of those turns puddle water badly. Hog pen, back straight at the chicane are the areas that puddle and flood the worst, and I didn't see or hear of any grading going on there. Sure hope they did !!

You love to bitch about that but they aren't forcing you to attend.

You are missing the point Ryan ............. VK loves to bitch.........

So in looking on Facebook it would appear that they have turned T-11 into a banked turn into Oak Tree. Am I seeing that correctly?

Which picture are you looking at? I don't think they changed T11 at all.

I think if you were going to go off at those places (T3, T10, etc), you were already botching the hell out of a turn. I'm not sure if adding 5-10mph in those low/medium speed sections is going to shrink the margin of error in a real significant way.

I meant that if you were going off at those turns and were going to hit the armco, you were going to do that whether or not 6' of extra pavement was there or not.
