How bad is everyone getting screwed?

A lot of this is humorous though, 1994 Miata is $400 and a 1997 is $750. I want to say the only meaningful difference is the 1997 is ODB-II and has about 5 more HP.

The gnashing of teeth on the Chump forums is pretty good though. http://forum.chumpcar.com/index.php?/to ... bcr-posted

The rules are pretty byzantine, and seem similar to NASA with their valuing of mods. Obviously I am uninvolved, but as an ignorant outsider I thought this was a crapcan racing league yet I see the ability to run a Mk IV Supra and a Corvette? I know their values are over $500 but why are those cars even considered viable for that kind of series? Just curious.

I'm not greedy, I'll take just the LS-1 engine for $475 please.

i had drinks with chisek this weekend and can tell you that the regional directors are NOT happy with the new rules. he is well aware that there are a number of loopholes and potential ringers as they exist today, expect changes in the coming weeks. he also asked me (and anyone else that wants) to send him a list of the more egregious errors that you feel need to be corrected in the rules, he's a smart guy but acknowledges that he doesn't know every make/model and depends on participants to help with this task. this means mpv numbers as well as anything in the rules.

On a side note, if anyone does spot a good cheap LS-1 for sale, let me know. I'm kinda sorta in the market for one.

No more penalty laps; however, something is going to have to be done about his dash bar... :P

I think the MPV table is a good idea, but it needs some fine tuning. I'm starting to have some ideas about a 1.8L Miata...

Unfortunately she's blown up again and I haven't had the time or place to rebuild it again. And it still needs a dash bar....Many people have died because of the lack of one, so I've been told by Chump inspection

I was bored so I just read through the new rules. Reads like a novel it's so damn long. John Condren has taken something simple and made it complicated. He must be German. :stick:

If they were to actually follow that rulebook to the letter it would take two whole days just to tech the cars for one event.

No you see, tech is just there to enforce safety and gross violations. It's your responsibility to tell them about illegal stuff so they can ignore it during impound.
