So right now it looks like it will only be myself and one other FFRC at the next race, and both of us are still running the old power. I am typically faster than the other FFRC guy at this track so I can probably get the win. The Vintage race director emailed me today and asked if the two of us would run in Vintage instead of FFRC. So do I run in FFRC and get a couple of points, or run in Vintage and have more people to race against.

The group looks pretty interesting:
65 Mustang
66 Mustang
68 Firebird
71 Datsun 240Z
72 Porsche 911
73 Corvette
77 Nissan 240 ZX
79 AMC

I got a great view of the Vintage race at Road Atlanta Last year.

Talk about false advertising! So I convinced the other FFRC driver that we should run Vintage and play with the other cars listed as promoted by “someone”. It sure sounded like fun. Now I find out that those are the cars that have registered SOMETIME this year, not for the next event. Right now there is only one other car registered (a 67 Firebird). I am disappointed.

well other than changing classes you aren't really doing anything different. still racing against the same cars. not a total loss. granted it would have been more entertaining if all the vintage guys showed up.

I just had high hopes from the "sell". He did send out an email blast today to get more guys to come and play.

Prepped, cleaned, and packed up for my first Vintage race. This should be a lot of fun.

No kidding. If that was going to happen that was probably the best place for it. I shudder to think of the carnage if that had happened on track. Kudos to the NASA Hot grid staff for reacting so quickly.

Marty,

I am about to watch the Sat race video. In your practice video, I saw it was short, so I knew something was going to happen quick. As you drove through the paddock, I kept watching for something to happen...

* Oh, there is a cat! Is he going to run over it?
* Are they going to say he can't get onto the hot grid?
* Is the grid worker on the Segway going to fall?

:)

Richard

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.
