Copy that, good idea. We used the stock tail lights and headlights on stock wiring, but ran new circuits for the HIDs. The stock headlights are "backup" in case something goes wrong with the HIDs. And we keep a spare rear light in a box in case our stock rear lights get taken out.

word of advice John. don't move the wiring around a whole bunch. pretty sure our main issue is due to brittle 25 year old wiring that has been "overly" manipulated.

Well...that and it's overheated and blown a few head gaskets.

Let's stay positive and call them: Opportunities for improvement.

I love it! Way to put a positive spin

I gotta say, goal #1 with this team is getting it on track and getting everyone in the car. Goal #2 is making it reliable. Somehow I would like to combine those two but I think it is important to seperate them at this point for good measure.

Mark Cooper, Kyle Kimberly, and I were discussing this at VIR last week. There seems to be two distinctive schools of thought on the approach to Lemons/Chump.

1. Find the biggest POS you can get, take it to the track, and see what happens. If it runs the whole race, fine. If it doesn't, who cares?

2. Find a cheap car, make it reliable, run the whole race, and have fun. If we win great. If we don't, well, we still had fun.

It costs our team an absolute minimum of $1200 in fees and fuel just to make it to the race. That doesn't count the tires, brakes, race fuel, lodging, etc which adds to the cost even more. If we're going to fork over that kind of dough, we want to be able to play the entire game, not sot on the sidelines and watch the other kids play.

Our team obviously subscribes to the latter concept. Our reasoning is, until they let us race for free, we want to show up with car that has a better chance than not of running the entire race.

I think that is def a goal that is in the plans, but I am okay with taking "baby" steps in order to get there. Would I love to see a THSCC podium sweep at one of these races, absolutely. Would be awesome

Will we be apart of that, who knows

The rear seat gets wet when it rains.
