Just a reminder to everyone that we have our Southern Fried Track Event coming up in just a few weeks, June 18-19 down at CMP. Once again, we are very light on student registration and need folks to sign up if you are planning to attend. The club needs everyone's help as we really don't want to cancel this one. We are currently discussing some ways to cut some costs on and lower our break even point, but it's still going to require more students. This event typically has a lot of late registrants so we are hoping that still holds true, but we urge everyone to please sign up as soon as you can. We won't be charging credit cards until we know for sure it's a go. Please spread the word to anyone you know who might be interested. Registration is here.

Also, don't forget Asphalt Venture's karting clinic on Friday, June 17. Sign up for both and make it a 3 day weekend.

What stinks about this weekend is my brother was already to sign up with me going in a support role. Then realized its father's day weekend and the better halves put the brakes on this due to family time.

:(

We are shooting for the Sept. VIR event.

Fixed assuming that is what you meant.

Sorry to hear you guys can't make it. How about a family weekend in beautiful Kershaw/Camden?

Exactly! What's the point of fathers day if you don't get to do what you want. Might as well just call it "yet another hen pecked day"... roflmao....

i once ran a LeMons event on my birthday only to get my ass chewed because i wasn't at home with the girls. thank goodness my phone doesn't work at CMP.

back when we used to run RRR i always found time to call my Dad while we waited for the track to clear at the gates on Sunday afternoon.

i agree with Mr Jagger here John. you need to re-train them women folk.

Yeah I called Ann from the gate at Watkins Glen to tell her Happy Mother's Day, and where in the house to find her card and present. I know, that's really pushing it... but Father's Day, come on. I'll be calling her from the gate at Road Atlanta. Short call though, she'll be sitting next to me in the truck :-)

Wish I could make this event but SAS and THSCC seem to make their schedules very conflicting. SAS wins since they sign my check and all you guys do is try and take it... I'm hoping to make VIR. That one you had the decency to schedule on a weekend I am not destined to work

Last call for this weekend's event. Still room in all run groups. Also, we will be running 4 sessions a day, so almost 30% more track time than our usual events. Also, don't forget the $50 special for the September VIR-F event if you sing up for both our event as well as Asphalt Ventures Karting Clinic on Friday, 6/17.

I'd like to extend a big Thank You to the THSCC Track Team for another well run and fun event. I know from personal experience that administering one of these events is a ton of work.

Those of you who couldn't make it missed an abundance of uncrowded track time. More than once, as I drove around with no other cars in sight, I had that gnawing feeing that I'd missed a checkered flag. My finely honed point-by skills were a bit flabby by the end of the weekend.

The weekend was my first time on-track with racing seats, 6 Pt. harnesses, and H&N restraint. Not having to hold on for dear life was a real luxury (I did not miss having sore arms on Monday).

My new front brake duct project was a rousing success as well - having full brake capacity, at the 30 minute mark in driving session, does a lot for one's confidence.

Again, thanks for a great weekend. I'm sorry that more folks couldn't be there to enjoy it. I'm already looking forward to October.
