In truth, any safe street car is just fine for an HPDE. It's not about being the fastest car out there (this is for everybody, not directed at you Rodney)

Those things are super hard. I can barely poke them with my nail. Using them at NCCAR might not be a bad idea. I don't know if there is enough tread on them though.

First rcomps, now track....damn, I've been smoking a lot of crack lately. Is there a rehab group for when I become an addict?

Rehab is that you buy a Camry or a Prius, or come to think about it any Toyota

Hey, I was passing AAE yesterday afternoon and saw a sweet white '07 Mustang GT on the display ramp out front. You should look into that :deadhorse:

What sort of tech is required? Do I have to have the car teched ahead of time or can it be done on site?

Sorry for the noob question. I'm considering it, but will be out of town May 4-11, so I need to decide soon.

Simple safety tech. Peformance Chassis can do it, or you can down load the form and take it to a shop to have done. It's nothing complex, just to make sure the car is OK.

There is a small chance that I may make this. I don't think I can commit before May 1 though. HG is blown on the Miata and I won't be able to work on it till early May. I mentioned the club's plight to Laura and she asked why I wasn't going. Reiterated the date and she said "so?". Finding the time to get the car back together is what may be the deal breaker for me.

You have struck gold, my friend. Keep that lady happy.

I'm working on getting the E30 ready--hope to be there. Probably will miss the window on the club discount, but that's how it goes.

I'm worried about the helmet and roll bar clearance rule. Right now, my helmet is over the roll bar. I'm planning on ripping a lot of foam out of my oem seat, but I'm worried I might still not be 2" under it.

Is it really a rule? and how is it enforced?

This might be a deal breaker for me - unless someone can lend me their seat? :)

The mustang was a blast and owning another one is not out of the question. If I do head down that road again, I'll be in a 08 bullitt. I'm still drawn to that car, but the prices won't fall....

Yes, this is really a rule. Basically it's checked exactly as described in the tech guide. Place a broomstick/yardstick/any other flat straight object across the top of your windshield frame and the roll bar and see if you fit underneath it.

Club discount is good right up until the day of the event...unfortunately signing up the day of the event will be too late if we have to cancel. We absolutely have to have people committed by 05/02. If your on the fence for shoot me an e-mail and we can discuss you situation.

Just convince them that your head is hard enough to withstand the impact and everything will be cool.

If you don't want to risk your seats I have one that you can have, but I don't know that NA seats work in your car.

How are we looking? Any more drivers sign up? I hate this one is getting off to a rocky start.
