Not true. Jennifer was supposed to ride along, but the schedule conflict prevented that.

Omigod, I am totally not old enough to be a "lady!" Please, let's stick with terms that diminish my age.

Thanks to the event organizers, instructors, and other drivers who helped make this a great weekend! Also to the weather, which managed to not-rain for the longest clear period in two weeks! VIR is a fun course, and I am only beginning to discover what a fun car the Elise is.

I will make sure not to miss Vincent's Mustang next time -- I heard somewhere that it's the ride of a lifetime!

Thank you Vincent Keene for taking me for a very memorable ride in your Mustang. It showed me that with practice there’s a lot more out there than I was getting.

You are welcome. Just remember I have a lot of experience at VIR and with more seat time you'll get nothing but better.

Thanks for the advice, I definitely don’t plan to drive beyond my ability.

Thanks Mike....now I will have to hear that quote repeated from now to eternity.

VK, I’m truly sorry for all of the grief that I have brought on you. I was trying very hard to show my appreciation and then an amusing thought was triggered. By the time that I stopped laughing, I had already hit the submit button. I guess that this kills any chance of a future ride along? BTW, from 7 to 17a, you were not taking it too easy. Please give the youthful and perky Jennifer a ride along at the next event. I want to see her forum write up.

I want to thank everyone for a wonderful but terrifying weekend. Stephen W, setting me up with Eric Hardcastle was a stroke of genius. He was able to anticipate what I needed to hear. Speaking of that Eric, I’m sorry if I damaged your hearing. I think that I was screaming down roller coaster a couple of times. I find it amazing that the little patch of asphalt called hogpen lets a car hurling down a hill like a slalom skier pull it’s self out into the straightaway. I really thought that there’s no way we could make it, but I had faith that you where not suicidal. I think that my ears popped on the way down. It takes real stones to sit in a car with someone like me who has never been on a track before. Thanks to all of the instructors. I have been thinking at home about the four times that Eric said, “Nice save”. I would have left the car if I thought that someone was losing it on the track just once. Lastly, I want to thank my MazdaSpeed. I have never liked it because it’s just not in the same league as my Miata for autox. On the track, the car started talking to me, it said, “ I belong here” and “ Let me go faster”. There is nothing wrong with an overpowered front wheel drive car on the track, it slid out of the corners so naturally and accelerated faster than I ever imagined in the straights and for the passes. Best of all, the brakes worked every time. I felt that I went way faster than I ever imagined that I could. Thank you Vincent Keen for taking me for a very memorable ride in your Mustang. It showed me that with practice there’s a lot more out there than I was getting. I also learned something else, don’t buy a car who’s maniacal first owner Armoralled the leather seats every week. I don’t know how you could drive the car so fast and with so much precision when your butt wasn’t planted. Me, I’m taking two aspirin to relieve my thigh and buttocks muscles from wedging myself between the dash and the door panels. I have never spread my leg for that long or that hard. It was however, the ride of a lifetime. Thanks again to all for putting this together. BTW, the track still scare me sh__less. Does anyone know what the web site is for the guy who was taking the pictures?

THAT is why we do this.

One of the best posts I've read in a very long time!

Okay hit the website. It's nice to see some pics from better angles. Given the number of pictures he takes, I'd have to give him some slack on creativity on every shot.
