I gave them a set too; those guys must have been tearing up some axles. Did you get any of their beer-can chicken? It was delicious.

Hey VK, How about some credit for the block I put on the Saab for you! I think Cline helped Stephen too. I didn't want what your team promised, but dinner would have been nice.

I can't believe our problem was inside that power block. It could have been a 2 minute fix and a quick tire change. Instead it was a 6 1/2 hour frustration. I guess stuff like that is going to happen in a 26 year old car that has been run so hard.

We still had a good time. I wish that young guy doing his first Lemons race would have known going 4 wide into Turn One on the inside was a bad idea. I wish I had seen him sooner and braked sooner. He would have missed me and hit the other cars. I think he ran his door into my bumper when he hit the curbing. All it did to our car was scrap off the paint.

For those of us who weren't there, WTH was the problem? OR do you guys know for sure??

Last I heard, the coil was bad- but I think that was from Remchak, so it might not be right.... :stick:

All in all, sounds like a really good weekend- I enjoyed watching some of the live feed online from TrackGeeks, that was alot of fun. Looked like the smaller field contributed to the overall level of clean driving. I'm sure there was some jackass driving, but it looked to me like there was plenty of space out there- ~50 cars compared to 80-100 or so that I've seen there in the past.

Sean can say for sure, but I think he said the power distribution block had a loose wire that fed power to the ECU. No ECU = no start. I think they had a similar problem in that same area.

As far as the car count, I actually like the 80 car field better. The problem with the 50 car field was that at any given time only 25 seemed to be running non-stop. IOW, with an 80 car field and half of those running, it was more like racing than an lapping day.

Why would they need CRX axles for an MX-3?

Hong Norr had a CRX. Hong Norrth had a MX-3.

so Walter who did you end up buying dinner for since i didn wreck the car? i hope it was a steak dinner because i didnt even have a close call.

the problem with our car was the power block at the front passenger side of the firewall the lug that feeds the main power relay lost power in the middle of T14 with Cline driving. idk what happened that made the lug loose power but i moved the wire to another lug and we were ready for the next day.

Well we have a new coil that Colin went to Matthews to get, we were stuck on what the problem was. Electricity getting to the coil but it wasn't sending spark out. Tested fine but we were at a loss. Good detective work by Super Troopers and Sean finally found it the problem The rest of just stood around and looked.

WWDDD???

I guess Steve had Dave-in-the-box with him at home????

Super Troopers are a good bunch of guys. We gave them the front control arms and a bunch of other stuff off our parts car the first time they ran- to replace the BRAND NEW ebay crap control arms with urethane "preformance" bushings that disintegrated during their shakedown runs on Friday before the race. Since then we've always hung out with them at the track- that first race they ran I think only 1 guy had ever been on a race track before, but I think it was their 3rd time out when the won overall!!!!!1

The 2 1/2 hours driving to Charlotte and back wasn't that bad, and I assume they kept troubleshooting other possibilities while I was gone. I'm just glad we found the cause... what a PIA. We were just about to start pointing fingers and blaming each other when we discovered the dead terminal. Well, not really but if Debbie weren't there...maybe.

Since we did figure it out, I managed to get my first two hours of real 'sort of real' track driving. What a blast! I've got to get my Spec3 finished.

Cline was concerned after seeing you lock it up going into 14 a few times.

As Walter was on the radio with you...
Cline: "Walter, can you tell Sean to leave some round on the tires for me?"
