all ready signed up. Looking forward to seeing how the mustang does on track. I think I will invest in some upgraded pads before I hit the track though.

Do we typically use the same schedule event to event? I only ask because Laura has expressed interest in track events but I'd like to avoid keeping the car out for 50 minutes straight. If green group is always bordered by red/instructor that makes things easier. (This of course runs on the assumption that I'll be allowed to run in Yellow otherwise she gets to wait till next year. :))

It will probably be pretty close to what we ran in June. Does she have her own car?

The run group order should stay the same, although the times might be slightly tweaked.

She does but it would be pretty inappropriate for a track. We would likely be sharing my Miata. I still have to work out some details on seats before it's possible. She is above the rollbar with stock seats.

Rodney,

The setup I liked best on my 99 Cobra was a Carbotech XP10/XP10 setup. I have run everything from XP8s to XP12s as well as Hawk Blacks (never again!).

I just signed up for this, my second HPDE, and the first in my recently acquired 1998 BMW M3!

Now all I need is to find someone to help defray the cost of the hotel. Anyone interested in sharing a non-smoking room?

Michael for the M3 have you installed the reinforcements for the rear shocks? If not might be a wise thing to do before the event. I believe you buy the part for the Z3.

I had to cancel the track event, which is hugely disappointing, but I believe the previous owner took care of that when he had coil-overs installed. What do they look like?

On the receipt from European Performance, it lists

*Replace front and rear strut assemblies, install coil-overs
*Replace rear trailing arms, wheel bearing, CV joints, both lower control arms.

The list of things that were replaced goes on for almost $10K worth, so I would be surprised if they forgot something, but you never know.

Sorry you had to cancel. Will be a fun event.

They look a lot like a VERY thick exhaust gasket (for between pipes in the exhaust system). A large hole (I'd guess 3 inches) in the middle with two smaller "ears" with holes.

To install these pieces you first gain access to the top of the rear shocks inside the trunk. Most folks cut the carpet on 3 sides and fold it back. Then remove the two nuts holding the shock in. With the car on the ground the shock won't move. Slide these pieces over the top of the shock with the bolts for the shock sticking through the two holes in the "ears". Replace the nuts and good to go.

What these do is re-enforce the sheet metal of the shock mounting tower which is a weak point in the car. I had this failure on my street M3. It may have seen the track before I bought it.

Any questions let me know and I'll do my best to answer them.,.....even correctly!

Ron

Tried opening the file but nothing showed except the title which was for the Subaru. But if the parts are like what I described then those are them.

Try this one:

I'm not good understanding text descriptions of physical items.
