Thanks! That reminds me of what it looked like the first time I saw it in the spring of 1999. Somewhere I have a photo of Karl Kauffman challenging a large turtle to a race, on the straight between turns 3 and 4.

WOW! I had no idea it had gotten so bad before they renovated the track. Some parts of it looked more like a rallycross course than a race track.

Thanks. It gives one a nice perspective on the many improvements.

Someone just posted this film from 1967'ish time frame at VIR. About halfway through he moves over to roller coaster. You can see the hog pin barn down at turn 17! Very cool!
