And for anyone interested, details of the 2010 Stock Class "shake up" are on pages 14 & 15 of the November Fastrack: http://www.scca.org/documents/Fastrack/09/11/09-fastrack-nov.pdf

Move models currently in BS into CS, merging the two classes. Move models currently in AS into BS. Move
various models into AS. The results of this group of changes will be as follows:
Move from SS to AS:

BMW:
M3 (‘08-‘10)
Z4 M Coupe/Roadster (‘06-‘08 )

Chevrolet:
Corvette (‘97-‘04, C5 chassis, non-Z06)

Lexus:
IS-F (‘08-‘10)

Lotus:
Esprit Turbo (‘96-‘04)

Mazda:
RX-7 (‘93-‘95)

Mercedes:
C63 AMG

Porsche:
911 (‘98-‘04, 996 chassis)
Boxster S (‘05-‘08 )
Cayman S (‘05-‘08 )

From what I can tell, the above will constitute A-Stock (at least I can't find any other reference to additional cars in that class). What's going to be the best autox option amongst those listed? The 2nd generation Boxter/Cayman S?

Also, with all of BS being merged into current CS, I'm wondering what cars will emerge as the major contenders in the new CS (which is now where the first generation Boxter S will reside).

The first gen Boxster is going there not the S. The S was a misprint that has since been retracted. The 986 chassis S goes to BS with the rest of the old AS class.
