Both of my first two runs each day were dirty, so I slowed way down to get clean runs in the books.

The results posted by SCCA disagree - they show the times for your last/clean runs both days were about 1 second faster than the raw times for your earlier/coned runs:

DNF 66.062(1) 63.316
74.444(5) DNF 63.521

Either way, it must have been a huge relief to get a clean run to end each day - the thought of going all the way to Nebraska to end up with all dirty runs would surely be a tough pill to swallow.

Great job to everyone that represented THSCC!

Both coned runs I slowed way down by instinct when I realized I was late/out of control/wasn't going to make the gate. On that size course, it didn't take a big mistake to cost a lot of time.

For Keith: Marc was on the 275 square setup, and I think he's either running zero rear toe or possibly even a little toe out. Jadrice was on 245 square. I believe Hahn was on 245/275. I guess it all "works," it's just a matter of preference. Vanilla versus chocolate kind of thing.

Karl I am hoping to have my new front bar on the car for Danville so I can do some tire testing. You are more than welcome to take a run in the car with the square setup on it. Talking to Marc he is running 1/16th toe in at the back, unless he is lying to me.

Then I'm guessing he was talking about toe out in the front of the car, not the rear of the car. His words were "I'm thinking about more toe out," and come to think of it, he didn't specify front or rear.

Something else interesting from Marc - his shocks. When he had the new ones made, he told Koni to make them as stiff as possible in both rebound and compression, so they did. That's what he ran on the car. Turns out, the "official" AS valving is "about a seven out of ten." This was Marc passing the info from Lee to me second hand.

Marc's a super nice guy. I was thrilled to see him break out on day two second runs, and back it up on his third.

Anyway, I'd love to trade runs with you at Danville in two weeks.

For as smooth as Lincoln is, I think you will find a lot of people able dial up the rebound and compression a lot more there, as compared to 80% of the lots. Toledo being pretty similar in my eyes. - AB

Just my 2 cents on the site - it rocks. The courses were excellent and a blast to drive. I've even loved the the East Course where I drove poorly and got whopped up on. It's worth the long drive to run such challenging courses. Plus, Lincoln is a pretty decent city so we're looking forward to going back again next year. The Haymarket District in downtown is nice and has good restaurants. The SCCA did a great job on moving Nats from HPT to Lincoln.

What he said.

Seriously, for anyone wondering, "is it worth it to drive over 20 hours from home to go to an autocross," the answer is "Yes." If it was happening again next week, I'd go. I have sampled the Nationals Kool-Aid twice now. It's good Kool-Aid.

Agreed 100%, AX nirvana. Finally a site worthy of being called a Championship venue.

I'll agree with Chuck & Karl's sentiment. While I missed Nationals, I did run the ProSolo there this year. The site is beautiful and the concrete, while not Forbes grippy, is good. I'm guessing it rubbered in better for Nationals than it did at at the ProSolo, which made the grip even better. - AB

Aaron, I'm sure it rubbered in better. On Friday while we were walking the course with Chris after AS ran, my shoes were trying to stick to the pavement. It was crazy. We also ended up making more in the way of setup changes than we ever have before. Nothing radical, but certainly a lot different than we usually do. On the practice course, the car felt just like it always does. On the "real" courses though, it was way different.
