Yes, there's certainly a lot of classes where clearly it's going to go right down to the wire at the last event. This is a very competitive season.
At this stage, pretty much all of them are still open mathematically. I see just four in which the season winner is settled already: Robert Plank in ASP, Mike Miller in CS, Keith Quistorff in DS, and Les Davis in SSM.
It's next event that will start to decide the less-close classes. Right now the maths is dominated by "what if the current leader misses the last three events?", and if those drivers place well at event #6 that will seal it up.
As an example of an almost-settled class, let's take HS. If I win all three(!) remaining events, I win the season no matter what. If Gwen takes just one win, the season's hers. But if a wild card wins one event and I get the other two, it'll come down to counting seconds and thirds. I'm hoping for hot weather and very difficult courses.
