The turn at the top of the figure 8 was the most interesting. I drove it as two separate turns. Thanks goodness Walter's car rotates like mine on throttle lift :-)

The idea was to make it two seperate turns, just like you said. The angle was different when you approached from the 8, rather than a straight on approach. A perfect opportunity to remember to look ahead, think, and brake early. Wish I had driven it better. With all my slipping and sliding, I never really got into the throttle like I should have. Monday morning quarterbacking suggested that I left at least 3+ seconds over several areas of the course. (I hate when that happens!) It makes me go back to my day dream of having a course that you run 2 days, not one. Say, "fun runs", or non points event on Saturday, and the points event on Sunday, same course.

Same course would kinda be unfair.

Any word on results being posted?

:whoknows: only if you didn't come both days. Yeah, I know. That's been the argument all along. I'm just saying.........................................

Not to mention, if you hated the course on Saturday, how much "fun" would it be on Sunday? Still......................................................

A solution that would make it fair is to swap days - run a points event on Saturday and non-points/fun runs on Sunday.

The annual 2 day at Rocky Mount was always done this way with no complaints. - AB

I am talking if day one was "fun runs".

My bad ;) Although, there were a number of times where the course setup crew was awfully fast on their first runs 8)

Yeah, but the whole idea of figuring out the course for the best possible recorded time would be lost, making Sunday only as popular as the number of folks who usually sign up for fun runs.

A certain nameless setup crew member almost put his co-driver's car into a large soccer goal 'testing' the course in Rocky Mount once. Thank goodness the current officers decided we should move the 'hazard' on event day after seeing the skid marks leading up to it. It was a good thing too since that same crew member slid into the same spot (but further) which would have resulted in some significant body work on a certain un-spinnable AWD car.

How's that for speaking of one's self in third person story?

We used to have 2 day events at other venues too. If you didn't make day 1 - tough titty. I still think that would be a fun way to do a 2 day event

It was before my time, but someone told me that when THSCC used to have the night series at RBC, it was always the same course. Is that true?
