Is the test and tune open to non-members?

And if not, is it possible for someone to join the club on Saturday and run?

The message on the site says that registration will open to non-members on the day of the event.

Thanks,
Charlie

Yes and yes if they meet other requirements (can't be twelve, etc.).

As of last Tuesday, the T&T required a passcode for web registration. If you want to open it up to non-members, removing the passcode would be a good step.

No, the Nov school was opened (at VP request), but we were told the T&T should stay members-only. Should we open up the T&T?

After the event was rescheduled, I had to cancel out mine and Jackie's preregistration. I sent an e-mail about paypal refund to registrar@thscc.com on Monday. I'm not in any hurry whatsoever for the refund, but I just wanted to make sure that this is the right address and is active.

Thanks,
Chuck

The registrar's have it - just don't have all the "keys" to the paypal/registration system yet to make the refund happen - that meeting is happening this week so expect resolution shortly.

Of course, (and this is a general comment, not just to Chuck's specific issue) if we can simply apply this credit to a future event(s), that's much less time consuming and slightly less costly for the club. Though certainly, we'll process a refund for this type of cancellation as requested.

Thanks Dustin. I would like to somehow have it credited for future events too, but there is no mechanism to do that, right? Here's what the THSCC preregistration page states:
Quote:
Anyone canceling preregistration prior to the event may receive a refund of PayPal prepayment IF your spot can be filled with sufficient prior notification to the Registrar. We do not grant event credits for future events under any circumstance.

Actually, Dustin (and registrars, if you're reading), refunds through Paypal are very quick and easy, and the fee is refunded as well, so there's no disadvantage to refunds. It is a persistent myth that it costs the club to give Paypal refunds.

If I was a registrar, I would much rather give a refund than keep up with who had credits forward. But thankfully I no longer am, so I offer this point of view only to clear up any confusion that may exist.

Hey, look at that, we learn something new everyday! Thanks for the clarifications Carl.

Chuck, you're right - there's no way to "officially" connect those dots, and for a general event with 100+ people, keeping track of these could easily get way out of hand by the middle of the year.

Assuming you're covered for this weekend already (or not planning to come at all this weekend), we'll just process the refund to keep the "paperwork" simple. Thanks!

I can't make it for the TnT on Saturday, and it will be a last minute decision for Sunday (fingers crossed, hope to see you there).
