Who's handling the novice school? I know I've been gone most of last year, but I'm interested in instructing if there is an opening. Thanks!
Phil

As far as who's handling the school, Alex and Charles are the primary chairs for the event and Charlie Monroe has plans to help w/ the novice school since he's the novice coordinator. I'm going to be the GM.

That said, we welcome you as our first instructor. Anyone else that wants dive in and instruct, please join in. Not sure what the offical policy is, but I would suspect we want folks that have had at least 2-3 years of autox'g under their belt is welcome to instruct. Since this is a novice school, we really want to impart the basics for driving and safety.

I'll be back later w/ additional info for the novice school and what to expect.

Count me in. I've instructed for the last two years. It's a great way to reenforce the basics to yourself at the beginning of the year as well as get new people started. I worked with the guy that I instructed at novice school all of last year. I got alot of satisfaction experiencing his improvement from event to event.

I'm in to instruct as well.

"OK, watch what I do in my car, and do something different." Simple, effective, easy to convey.

Or the old standard, "do as I say, not as I do!"

Well, as it looks now, I am looking for a co-chair again.

Charlie Monroe said he'd help with the Novice school, and Rob said he'd help out too, so if time is an issue, you can volunteer to just do Sunday's aX course.

Also, wanted to request any event checklists etc. that you guys may have lying around. This is my first autocross event, so I want to do it all right ;)

Talk to Rodney, your GM, or Wes. Wes had a great spread sheet last year with everything that needed to be done, and when. You'll be fine.

We do have an updated fancy dancy spreadsheet too, complete with timeline - the VP's should have this, or I can send direct if needed.
