The Triplecross Round 1 entry list so far has been updated:

Please reply ASAP with any corrections.

This is now a two heat event for a maximum of 60 cars. 33 spots remain available as of Thursday morning. Please bring friends - the more the merrier! The weather forecast looks great too.

Sunday's course will be designed by the legendary Mike "Junior" Johnson. You can expect at least 5 or 6 runs, but probably more.

Sunday schedule and all further info can be found on the event page:

Did not see many names I'd recognize on the entry list... Anybody else going?

I think I'm done for the year. Time to get the front bumper fixed again.

Well, I did not hit any cones with my new car yet, so I found it hard to pass on this event. Particularly now that the car is actually aligned.

Plus, I have some leftover RS2s to burn that came with the car.

If I were you Karl, I'd get the nose done again and buy a bra for the nose. I used one on my Celica at events with good results. - AB

Actually... Are the front bumpers on these things SO vulnerable? Should I start a bumper repair fund?

I don't think it's just S2000's. It depends upon a lot on the bumper height, type of paint and how hard you hit the cones ;) Invest in either a bra for events or 3M film. - AB

If you're hitting enough cones with the FRONT of the car to remove the paint...you're doing something wrong.

Aaron's right.

Alex, what's happening to my car usually happens when I wallop a feature that includes a pointer cone or double cones. The front corner of the car sort of folds under a bit.

My car also has had non-original paint on the front bumper pretty much since I bought it. It was a condition of purchase of the vehicle for me, since the front bumper wasn't as pristine as the rest of the car. As I understand it, factory paint on a plastic bumper is a lot more flexible than non-original paint. So, I get the cracking.

In fact, I looked at Nationals, and I didn't see a single other S2000 with cracked paint on its front bumper.

Now scratches? That'll happen to any car, especially if we're using cones that have recently been used by the rallycross program.

I probably would have left this particular front bumper alone, but the incident with the tire carcass on the way to Nationals this year made it worse, so now I'm going to have it repaired.

Geez NASA indexing sucks. I get penalized for factory sways, dampers, springs, torsion bars, and engine displacement, but camber plates, final drive regearing, rolling fenders, relocation or replacement of battery, replacement of alternator and removal of A/C are all unpenalized?

Chris, we might need to take the fit. We would be in the worst (best) class!

Sadly it looks like we won't be in the F-it, because Chris has some family obligations. It turns out that my factory options only bump me up one class though, to E instead of F. I think I might go up two with the race tires, though. That's crazy how they'll let you just bolt on camber plates with no penalty, though, and the regearing also. Fender flaring I kind of understand because you're penalized for wider tires already.

I mean, I'm reading that correctly, right? That points are assessed per changes over the base model, i.e. any factory option is assessed points? All that stuff mentioned above is factory options m030 and m220.

We'll see how Saturday goes before I decide on going up to Petersburg or not. Might decide I got too much going on.
