Laurinburg and Danville are too far away for AX. So that leaves Sanford and the Greenville events for next year. I enjoyed having the Z out there. Now just for the timing of events....

Off season:
1) Motor tear down
2) Panhard bar relocation
3) New rear end, gears (3.70 to 3.42) & posi unit.
4) Replace stock gauge cluster with a custom made one.

that is a lot of stuff in two months of off-season :-(

Definitively more track events, this year my track time ended up being the Nurburgring, twice.
Maybe more AX either with the Porsche or the Miata. As for the Porsche I'm working on adding some aero stuff....

I'm considering getting back into AX again after this past weekends course. I'd really like to run the Vette but using the Toyota would be an interesting twist. I tried it once and almost took out some Triad members... You have to lead the course workers a lot more to get them in that car

I think an Evo school will be a must to get some help and lots of seat time. 4 runs a month is just not that useful to get back into it.

The Vette needs no work, just a driver. The Toyota will need the suspension completely replaced. Maybe an ST-something car.

Will finish the track season with 4 events. Less than half of what I had planned to do. Next year I have to make it to Watkins Glenn.

Well looks like another year in the Solstice :) . Good thing, we're just starting to learn it. I hope we can do more local events for the practice, which ones is somewhat dependent on where the Championships will be held (surface). I hope it is on asphalt no matter where it is, practicing on concrete is hard on the tire budget and finding events being held on decent concrete is even harder.

After the November 7th weekend, my year will completed with 10 race weekends and 3 test days. I am looking forward to a couple of months off.

Seems like the off weekends are spent getting the car ready for the race weekends. Maybe I will get my hardwood floors done before Christmas.

Taking out Triad workers is a plus. You did make a point of making sure the course workers paid attention to the warning about watching the cars at Laurinberg

Finishing out the year chairing the non-points event with Bernie and Gwen. Then going down to Road Atlanta with Chin for 2 days.

Next year I want to do either Sebring, Mid-Ohio, or Watkins Glen or all of them. I would also like to be able to afford something different to drive but we'll see how the finances run. Until then the Miata will have to do and my carpal tunnel elbow will get worse

I'll be in H Stock again with Kit's Mazda 3. Had way too much fun doing that this year to want to change. Also in my plans are "at least one top ten PAX in 09", but that probably requires an "H Stock Course" so that's not really very certain. ;)

Chris, keep the Fit stock, throw on some Rcomps, and come beat us in HS. :)

If anyone wants to give Mr. Westerfield some competition in FS, it's likely I might want to let go the Trans Am real cheap when I have a daily driver replacement (a few months yet, I think). It's set up to run FS on rcomps (Konis, Strano bar), and if you don't mind no a/c and the headlights staying up it'd be a cheap way in. Consistent close second to the Purple People Eater back when I didn't drive as well. :)

being a poor college student, i have no money for r-comps + wheels (stock fit wheels go for $400!!)! i have been frustrated with the Fit all year on low speed courses, so as of now i am planning to slap on a rear ARB and filling/replacing an engine mount to get rid of some nasty wheel hop.

I'll be joining STS again. Same old faded civic, but with a VERY rusty driver. I don't think I have a chance to be in the top three, but I do believe it will be another year of spins and high cone counts. But that's just a theory.

As bad as it sounds, I think I will be a "car whore" next year. (if you're looking for a tire warmer, I'm your 'ho! Wait....what I meant was....nevermind) I'm hoping Eric finds a ride that inspires him so he can do more driving. This was my year to focus on driving, while he did most of the kid watching. Next year is his turn to drive and I'll kid watch.

Meanwhile, I do hope to make *some* events next year. I know of a certain super-shiny S2000 that I'd like to drive, just to prove I can make it through a course without shutting the car off in the middle of a slalom!

It's looking really good for concrete, particularly the concrete in Lincoln, NE. There will be several events there next year, too.

That site adds a couple hours for us east-coasters, but is mammoth. Probably big enough for three full sized courses (full sized as in from the Forbes days) at the same time, which would mean the Pro can go back to Sat-Sun, most likely. Downsides are COMPLETE lack of facilities at the site as well as no overnight camping (damned active airport business again). But the town is much bigger than Blytheville, and they know that Nebraska football won't interfere for at least the next two years. Likely date would be Labor Day week.

There would be room for paddock on the concrete, and there appears to be a suitable site for a "solo city" again, though not quite as near the gate as in the Forbes days. (Grass, big, within 3-4 blocks of the gate.)

This isn't 100%, but getting warmer. Look for an announcement for sure within the next couple weeks. Blytheville is supposedly still in play, as is Topeka (though Topeka is ONLY in play for a possible single additional year).

You didn't hear it from me. ;)

That much space would be nice IF the surface is in good-excellent condition, not deteriorated like Forbes or Peru. What worries me tho is Lincoln gets an average of 3" of rain in both Aug (5.4" this past year!) and Sept. so likelyhood of wet courses is high.

The pics I have seen look like acres of good concrete. It does have expansion joints ala L'burg or any other concrete surface.
