Thanks for the offer. I'll see how many actually show up & let you know.

People who are going to participate in the course walk portion - pm me and let me know what questions you have, or just to let me know you're interested.

Sunday's event will be a foil to the last event that is currently titled Turning Japanese. Details to follow as Dustin and Kevin find a way to return emails. Last I heard, KA was working on dashplaque art that needs to be sent to VK last week.

So, shall we start up a different thread with the finishing order for the top ten japanese cars on Sunday? Pax and raw.

Just got back from Rally WV. Wanted to add that I'll be doing a course walk class early early early in the morning (like starting within 30 minutes after the gate opens) on the 9th for those who actually want to be fast. Those who don't want to be fast can skip it and just get seat time.

Thanks to Wes for doing the dash plaque. :D

Kevin, I'd like to sit in on this. Sounds like something that could really help me.

After a day of test and tune, instruction, etc, will the timing/scoring be set up for a brief mini autox to see if we’ve improved our times? No trophies, blah, blah blah-just a couple of timed runs.

How about a segment time for certain types of elemets. If the timer is just going to be sitting around, perhaps we could just hook it up with the display in sight. I'm thinking of something like a turn-around segment since that is a type of element I think many would gain the most time from working on.

Sounds like a good idea. Let's keep that in mind, Wes.

I had thought about setting up a course that can be run both ways, either with a crossover or like the capital Greek letter omega. Segment times are difficult for a turnaround because of a) where the bus has to be positioned and b) the display. I'm not convinced that it would be of value for the whole group vs a whole timed run. A finely tuned buttdyno should tell you if you're faster through a section at any given time.

I figured that bus positioning issues might preclude that. My thoughts on the turn-around segment timing were that many people in the club overdrive these, so being able to accurately see how slowing down to go fast works so well on one would be a great learning tool. In addition, developing the fine art of the latest possible maximum braking coupled with a smooth trailbraking transition into granny speed at the turn-around cone, followed by a proper throttle roll-on and exit of the element combines many skills that just about everyone can use practice honing. More time can be lost in that one element alone than many other places on a course...and it gets no respect. :)

Pre-registration closed a bit early? I tried to register Kevin tonight and couldn't.

Yep, it closed early. Our registrar's brother is coming to town tomorrow and had to pull information tonight. As always, walkups are accepted at events.

Thank you to everyone that made this intermediate school happen - including both of my instructors Karl Shultz and Carl Fisher. The intermediate school definitely helped out tremendously with the additional seat time and recommendations from my instructors.
