What's wrong with it? Looks pretty big and pretty square to me. Is it Laurinburg quality pavement or something?

haha, I'm dumb. I was seeing the top of the roof and thought that was pavement.

Yea, um, no comment! :)

I'm on the fence about going at this point although it may be a decent opportunity to test out the "new-for-'09" auto-x car.

Would that be the red Miata recently seen near Buck Jones Rd? Do you know where your Type R is right now? :P

From a quick measurement on Google Earth, it appears this lot is about 480' x 440' edge to edge (assuming it is the one bounded by Continental Blvd and General Tire Rubber Dr). I don't see anywhere else for pit/grid to go except on this space also??

For comparison, the Greensboro 2006 lot we ran on is 440' x 615' edge to edge for just the course. There was an additional area that is ~380' x 400'+ for the pit and grid.

Do I have this location correct? If so, it means the course and the pit and grid will have to fit into a space smaller than just the course area used in Greensboro.

That red Miata will likely be long gone by then as will the other red car I currently own.

Actually, I do. Especially considering I can see it from where I'm currently sitting.

They use another lot for pit and grid.

That course area sure doesn't seem like the size of the Greensboro lot when I was there. I can't look at the Google map right now so I'm not sure if we're talking about the same space.

Unless their course designer rides the short bus, CCR should be able to get a decent 40 sec course in there.

We manage to make fun courses at the g vegas site.

IIRC the g-vegas lot is about 700 x 450, give or take. (Some of the space being less than workable with storm drains, etc)

If they can make it work, we can still bring back the cup!

Street mod Geo Metro with an LS1!

I figure 400+hp w/ FWD @ ~1900lbs + whatever ballast to make it legal *has* to be a winning combination.

Daddio who? Peshawwww... :brow:

Whoa, chop 250' off the end of Greenville and try to run an NCAC there.

Sounds like a recipe for FAIL.

I may have the width wrong. Maybe not quite so wide, but I do remember the 700 +- long. It will be interesting, to say the least.

It's not. G'boro lot we used just for the course in 2006 is about 440' x 615'. This place is about 440' x 480'. So it's about the same in the short dimension and 135 feet shorter in the other.

Greenville lot looks to be roughly 230' x 700'.
