I'd stick to STS if I were you, Kevin. I think that Triad has STX in the bag. Course, you could prove Cline and Sienkiewicz wrong ...

Oh, yeah - didn't see Stinkawicz on the registration list, so I completely forgot about him. Would a WRX engine swap into my 2.5RS be legal for STX? If so, I think I could take him.

Of course, if the course layout doesn't allow much speed/WOT, it could even things out. :whoknows:

I'm not sure we'll have tyres. I think there's probably only the Sanford points event left on this set, and I'd hate to have to buy a new set for one event and have them sit over the entire winter before the next THSCC points event. We're going to have to make the call closer to the NCAC, unfortunately.

Buyt now! They'll be more expensive NEXT spring! Besides, it'll be February and Test & Tune time before you know it. :)

I guess you had better get crackin' if you want tyres since you have to get them from Britian. Over on this side of the pond we have tires. If you go to Bailey they are pronounced "tars".

I am surprised Cline has not jumped on this.

So, for those questioning the size of the lot for the NCAC here are a couple Google sat images of the lots to put things in perspective:

Our Greenville lot:

NCAC Continental Tire lot

By my calculation is about 50% larger than our Greenville lot though I'm not sure how pit and grid are going to work, there are various other parking lots around that could be used for that if available, but I'm not sure how much of the site they get to use. I certainly don't think it deserves to be referred to as a "postage stamp".

I would like to really encourage those who might be on the fence and even some of those who have completely decided against the event to reconsider. They say that HSCC expects 15 entries, we currently have 9. It would be really embarrassing to have more from HSCC than THSCC.

I don't know if I'm included in that "9" but, if so, I'm out...

It's a done deal for me. Besides, I'm liable to cone out and bring down the average anyway. :)

Mr. Spratte will be in Mexico that weekend unless something changed in the last 24 hours.

All of that black stuff to the right of the lot .. factory roof. If we can use the lot on the other side of the office building, then there will be a quite reasonable space, if we have to fit paddock and grid in there.. not so reasonable.

When they ran the 24hr event at that site a couple years ago they used the lot on the right side (south) of the building as Art described for the pit and pregrid area. There's also a small lot in between the pits and course area used for grid.

I haven't been back there in awhile, but i think it's a decent site. The surface was pretty good and there was plenty of paddock space available. BTW if you look closely on the map you can see the faint outline of the course they used for the 24hr.

I've signed up, but i'm not 100% sure if i'll be able to make it. If I can get out of having to go to Durham that friday before the event I will go to Charlotte, but I'm not going to do both.

BTW if anyone interested in splitting a room for fri and sat let me know. That could certainly sway my decision.

Jeff

We are still on the fence for that event, likely will go.
We were at this year's 24 hr event at CT. They used the lot on the other side of the building for paddock and the section at the top of that lot for grid. The only downside to that is you had to cross from one lot to the other over a short unpaved section of gravel and dirt. I was a bit disappointed at the size when we arrived, but the course designer with some tweaks from Rob Faulkner came up with a good course. The lot was quite gritty when we first walked it but got some decent grip as it cleaned off. I'd suggest running the street tire classes first to help clean the course.
