After 3 years our $59 Kroger canopy bit the dust. Some of you may remember it took a hammer, a Yankee, and lots of four letter words to put it up last year. I’ve been looking for a bargain but now that the AX season is underway I decided to just bite the bullet and headed to Dick’s Sporting Goods at Brier Creek. Got a 12 x 12 “Quest” (promises to be easy to set up) on sale for $89. They had white, orange and green-about 10 in stock-if anyone is looking.

See you this weekend. Hope to use it for shade, not to keep dry!

I think we got the quest 10x10 for $69 last year - only used it once or twice, but it seems well built and served us well. Unfortunately MUCH heavier than the Aluminum one it replaced since it's a steel design, but then again the AL one broke, so take that for what it's worth.

Just bought the 12X12 one myself. These really seem to be priced well.

I had one of these, and replaced it with one I got at walmart that I like better called "first-up" when it broke. My gripe with the "quest" was that its legs were 3 sections, and the buttons that locked them together get sticky over time, and eventually failed. The "first up" has more robust buttons, and the legs are longer, only 2 pieces (so fewer connections). It was a bit more expensive, but it has been bulletproof reliable for us ever since.
