The bus is currently north of Durham at OCS near one of the Greenville event chairs home. Shall we drop the bus at the pet inn?

Let someone know tomorrow.

So, the bus is parked at Gwen and Bernie's business north of Durham.

We had a messy weekend at OCS for the RallyX and the bus and trailer floor are dirty. We sweep it out, so there is no loose dirt in there, but it looks messy.

The cones on the other hand is a different story.
They need to be cleaned. We tried to only use cones from the RallyX side of the trailer but some were used from the AutoX side for cordoning off spectator areas so they are not muddy like the course cones.

If the officers feel strongly about getting the cones cleaned before Greenville, I will need to try to have a cleaning party this week-end. If needed, I think I heard Gwen say once they are equiped with pressure washer there. Could we clean there?

I will volunteer to clean cones and scrub down the bus. I have a pressure washer, all I need is a hose and running water to hook it up to. I can also bring the cone jackets as they are all clean and beautiful once more!

I am available anytime this Wednesday or Sunday. I work Saturdays, and after getting this last weekend off for the school I'm not likely to get another Saturday off for a while.

I PM’ed Ash. Saturday after 12 noon, or Sunday would be fine for cleaning up the bus @ PCI. I don’t recommend the power washer for the cones. I tried that last September when Bernie and I spent about 3 days working on the bus, trailer and cones. The garden hose will work better for them. The power washer just blows them around. You’ll need to bring the bus around front to the parking lot to have access to water and the concrete pad to put the cones on for washing.

PM me if you get something planned so we can arrange to get you the gate code.

Our real concern is finding a driver to get the bus to Greenville. Remember, no bus = no event.

I should be able to get out there this Sunday. I don't think I want to be moving the bus around though. Is anyone else able to come Sunday?

Ash,
I can get the bus around to the front of the building. I’ve looked at the cones and the inside of the bus. You’re going to need help! :!: I’m guessing that after 3 days in the cold and rain even if you were there you have no idea just how BAD the mud is on the cones now that they‘ve dried. Come on Rxers, step up and give Ash a hand. We can’t take the bus to Greenville and use the cones in the shape they’re in.

PS. Still need a driver for Greenville Event.

I should be able to come out Sunday to help with cleaning the cones and the bus.

Gwen,
Is there a place where the cones can sit outside for a couple of days? I could come over tomorrow night, unstack them and leave them sitting out in the rain for a day or two. It might make the final cleanup easier.

Thanks,
Charlie

He he, yeah. I know how bad they are. Mud is like cement after it sets up. If only the car wash was in between OCS and your kennel!

I bet if we set up an assembly line of wetting the cones down, let then sit for a few minutes and then scrub & rinse it won't be too bad. Also, I got to thinking about the power washer. I bet if we sink a long bit of rebar straight into the ground we can set the worst of the cones over it so they can't blow away. Just a thought. I'll bring stuff to swab down the bus and trailer floors too. 8)

I sure do appreciate the help Charlie! :D

I have a cheap power washer that surely would not blow over a cone.

I'll bring it along.

We probably need a generator to run it. :P

Pete, according to the thread, the bus it at Gwen and Bernie's business on 501 north of Durham before OCS

We have electricity......................but I get your point. THSCC always needs a generator.

Also, I have a portable power washer that's a little on the weak side that we can use. We'll figure out the best method once we get started. We're nothing if not innovative.

I keep having visions of that episode of "I Love Lucy" in the chocolate facory, except with muddy cones. I'm sure we will do a better job than that!

And back on topic, I'm pretty sure that

WE STILL NEED A BUS DRIVER!

It's hard to run an event without timing equipment and cones!

Bus driver gets a free hotel room, and an early look at the course if you chose to stick around for setup.

Thanks to everyone who came out to clean the cones and the bus @ PCI today. I was amazed that it only took about 1 ½ hours. We had Marisa shagging and stacking cones. She’s pretty good at it. :D You guys rock! T/S will actually be able to see out of the windows!

Now, if we can just get the bus to Greenville so we’ll have timing and scoring for Event #2.
