The NX has a clutch issue and we are not going to have it ready for Sunday's event. :(
So now we are in a pickle & can't decide which care to drive.
Hmmm decisions, decisions!!
My husbands MazdaSpeed Protege is fun to drive, :woo: but will need new tires.
Or my Nissan Sentra, she is getting old, but is still kicking at 162 thousand miles. However, my exhaust has a hole in it, so it sounds a little louder than normal. But my car has new tires. Which I really don't want to tear up. I did enough of that last season, hehehe
We bought 14" racing slicks for the NX. They will fit on my car, but I believe that will take it out of HS class. (my Sentra tire size are 15")
Does anyone know what class this would put my Sentra in?

Thanks a bunch

Michelle

shoot. my 92 has 238k+ and still kicking with a second motor at 150k.( the previous owner was somewhat lackadazeical with the maintainence apparently, i got her with 130k) japan direct hooked me up. I think auto crossing the sentra would be fun. If the tires fit on the nissan bolt pattern, use the mazda tires.Tall bodied cars are fun in lane changes!

Michelle - true racing slicks bump you to Prepared class. If you actually have R-comps, as opposed to racing slicks, then stock class legality would depend on whether the wheels are a size and offset (within 1/4") that was originally available as a factory option with the existing option package on your car. In other words, if you could have bought your exact car brand new from the factory with 14" wheels with the same width and offset within 1/4" as the wheels your race tires are on, and those race tires are DOT legal (R-comps, as opposed to slicks) and your car is stock-class legal otherwise (no mods that bump you out), you can run in Stock class. Clear as mud?

Unfortunately, those rim sizes were not available on that trim Sentra. They are, in fact, R-Comps on the 14" (NX2000) wheels. Freaky how a smaller diameter tire would bump you out of stock class, but I could see why it would.

As the "other half", I think i'm strongly leaning towards driving the MSP in STX for this first event.

Screw tires.
