Follow Riverton Rd. until the stop sign at AIRBASE Rd. There is an old store directly across the intersection on the right. This is the turn I keep missing.
Hmm. I wonder if they changed the sign sometime in the past 10 years or so? I know I
specifically noted all the road names to make the directions as clear as possible. However, your landmark of the store on the corner is a good one.

When you see a "40MPH" left bend sign, slow down.
Stay straight when Airbase Rd curves off to the left - the entrance to the AX will be immediately to your right, on a dirt/sand road.
Follow the dirt road for a short ways until you see the taxiways, from there you should see the AX signs/cones and the pit setup.
Hah- the text says there are 2 entrances, but then it lists 3! Another IQ test...

The entrance we use 98% of the time is actually the "Golden Knights" entrance, named for the skydiving team's "pavillion" that we pass as we wind our way in to the course area.
The other entry, the Burch Industries entrance, is the first one you get to as you approach the site from the north. It brings you in where the airplane was parked last time I was there.
The East Coast Timing entrance is between the other 2, it's a small gated path just past the last of the buildings on the right. It brings you into the "P". Trouble is if you use that entrance you end up losing access to the best part of the course...
I like your description of how to find the GK entrance better, though. I'll change the site to use it.
BTW, for anyone who still can't figure it out, you can always click the Mapquest link at the top of the page and get custom directions...
