and I've never auto-x'd a RWD (other than the Duke FSAE car, but thats so radically different, I didn't really count it). Oughta be interesting.

Don't let FWD fool you though, it'll still spin if you lift in the wrong place at the wrong time. . .

That's crazy talk! No way you can get a FWD car loose enough to spin. :D

Let me drive it, it'll spin... My 1st time out in a FWD it did that. Things are going along just fine, rotate, cool, more rotate, lift rear wheel, ooh cool, more rotate, uh-oh, now I can see the course workers that were behind me, weeee... watch the course workers that were in front of me run like mad

Triad guys did not find this amusing at all... I've got them faked out though. They're looking for a purple car

Heck, the only car I've spun off course into the grass that I can recall has been a front wheel drive car.

Those guys can't even get a car running now. Most autocross Chris Lin and I have gotten out of them is Ryan Sellers came to Sanford in his Sti and got his feelings hurt when Jackie and I beat him.

I want to drive the FSAE car so bad!

Jackie has already gotten to drive the GA Tech one...

why don't you go help them get it running? They'd let you drive it then.

Duke's team receives a PATHETIC amount of support from the university compared to other schools. They get their own money (from sponsors), no course credit, and have facilities that can be called poor at best. Put some work into it though, and a good performing car can be had, but its not quite as easy as some seem to make it sound.

Let the anti-Duke flames begin. . .

The guy that was at the last Danville event had a REAL FSAE car. Idled, never stalled and ran like stink.

I was impressed by that FSAE car that idled.

The club wants 10+ hours of work a week.
NROTC requires me to log 30+ hours of studying a week.
I still have to eat, sleep, go to class, drill, all that other NROTC stuff, and beat Rob in his go-kart.

So I had to give up the motorsports team after the first semester.

:(

the FSAE car that I was engine/fuel injection design team leader for idled. . . :D

But yeah, it DOES take a lot of time, although I'm sure they'd take whatever help you can give them.

OK, I'm in. I want to trade off the bimmer for a ride in something else... with head room. I'm thinking an mx5 or a mazda 3 would work. I can't fit in most low roof cars w/ a helmet, which is really a freaking bummer. Any takers? If not, I guess I can just practice my drifting skills since the 215's are shot. Maybe I can test the 5er in an autox, there's a thought....

Thanks!!

I have a ride swap w/ Brice and his Mazda 3. Any mini owners out there willing to swap a few rides with my 328? Let me know please.

thanks...

How do these events work if everyone's driving a different car for each run? Since it's all unofficial, do you just take a look at the timer each time you shoot through the finish and then pick on the person who's car your driving when you beat their time?

I'm in, and while I'm at, anyone want to drive my ITR? I've never autocrossed an S2k, M3, Evo, or STi before if anyone wants to swap.

The way I did it last year was I registered as 42 A Mod. Since I was driving as many different cars as I could in as many different classes as I could, I couldn't pick anything different.

My suggestion is that who ever wants to do the ride swap register as you number in AM. If you aren't planning on running different cars and classes, you could register normally.

The other advantage is that your index time is *really* easy to figure out. :D

You wanna splain that again? Since this is a non points event, what does it matter for registration? I "assumed" we would just be broken into groups to drive another autoxer's car. I figured at most all we would do is track time, but not use the computer. Damn logistics getting in the way again...
