A cross between AX and TT using a higher speed multilap course. It sounds interesting. The rules are on their website or forum (can't remember which). No novices, 6 groups by class. Classes will be PAXed within the group to determine winner. IIRC.
The 24 hr is a BLAST! All the seat time you could want or you have enough tires for. Running under the lights in the middle of the night is not to be missed! :D

Solo trials have been in the book for a long, long time. Nobody had the nads to put one on. I remember Ernie going thru it in Solo Safety Steward training.

The members only event last year was pretty close to a Solo Trial.

??? The Solo Trials rules are written up in this month's Fast Track.

I'm with Jim on this one. We'll be in Danville, but only for the points event on Sunday. Two days in a row, even at Danville, this time of year is enough 2 day events for me for awhile, thank you very much!

Low percentage shot on Sunday for me in Danville.

Ditto. I have a day to recover afterwards, but we'll see (which probably means I'll be there).

Well, it'll be easier domestically for me to go Iron Man next weekend and hit our Sanford event and the Regional in Verona on Sunday.

Day two of a two day event holds nothing for me, besides I love Danville so damned much ...

Yeah, but it could be 10 points for me. The only question is can I be back in time to get Laura from the Aeropuerto by 9pm.

Wes, what is it you don’t like about Danville? The runway isn’t falling apart, yeah, I know the east end isn’t the cleanest, but there’s no patches on the runway, the end where we paddock, not Bumparkegypt where we were last weekend, is decent, fast food, motels and auto supply stores close by, cheap gas with 100 octane close by…..what’s not to like? Not looking for a fight, just curious. :?

So it sounds like we'll be going to pick up the wheels and then coming back home.

Have you been to Verona? It's been a couple years since I've been there, but I do not have good memories of the site. It has a super gravelly surface...I'm sure they'll do their best to sweep/blow the racing line clean, but you still might wonder if it's an autocross or a rallycross

I lived there from 82-91 (parents lived there several years after that when I was in college), graduated from high school there in 1991 and have a kind of recent ex gf that lives several miles from the site. It's kind of bleh right now.

Ok, it’s not the site, it’s the circumstances. Got’cha. Understood!

There are actually 2 Triad events in Danville this weekend. The one on Saturday will be the "circuit cross" that is supposed to feature speeds higher than we normally see but it had been somewhat neutered by a recent talk with their insurance carrier apparently. Regardless of the speeds, it should feature "2 laps" per run and sounds like fun. The entry limit is low but I do believe you need to be a member of Triad to attend.

According to their website, they are "reserving" 30 spots for Triad members, but capping the entries at 50. I'm signed up, hope they let me run, cuz it sounds awesome to me.

The oldest SCCA Rule Book I have is 2006, I think I did SSS training in 04 .

The 06 Mentions it but does not give the rules like the older books. If you search the awards portion of the book, the Colorado Region was given an award for Solo 1 event of the year for Solo Trials Nationals in 1997.

Trust me its been around before. The eastern NCR guys were hell bent and determined to try and put one on at one time.

I know more about SCCA rules than I really should :(

OK, evidently that's what's new, in the past it was considered a Solo1 event (Time trial/track) Now the name remains, but it is sanctioned/governed by the Solo (formerly Solo II) Dept. Rules can be found in the solo section: http://www.scca.org/Garage/Index.asp?Id ... 090|005&~=
Sounds to me like the NASA events were getting too popular...
