I hate to see the fallout from the NCAC Cup rules change-up make us turn on each other. We're better than that!
At least I still have a chance to win one of those cool NCAC champion jackets, right?
Something like this probably should have been discussed during our chat session on Saturday. My feedback would be to the NCAC participants, forget about it and focus on the upcoming task at hand.
You need to focus entirely on course and going out and giving it 100% on that first run and each subsequent run. Focus on executing the stuff you learned on Saturday on course and in the chat session.
Any kind of distraction like this will impact your performance. Autocross by its very nature is an individual endeavor.
Having participated in the NCAC for many, many years, fighting to keep THSCC involved in it, championing it to newbies as a stepping stone; I will tell you it is not about some cup. It is about winning your class and being the state champ for a year.
Additionally, by dropping it and giving Stephen a pat on the back for all the work he has put into it, you will allow him to focus on winning. That is team/club support.
If you want to help the club to win the cup, win your class and drive as fast as can. Then you have done your part. Then help other club members win and drive hard. Does someone need their tires sprayed down? Help them, let them focus on driving. Do your club members have water while they are waiting in grid (we talked on how important hydration is)? If water is not provided to all participants, are we making sure each THSCC member has plenty of water when they go and work course? Are you watching you fellow club members drive and if asked providing constructive feedback to them?
Ok, I am off my soapbox
