I've got to get an excusal cleared for a NROTC thing on the 18th, but if that goes through, would it be too late for me to sign up and come to the practice?

No problem. Hope you can get excused for that day.

Well, I had to cancel my registration.

I found a blown shock on the FSAE car when I got home from the last event. I sent it back to Fox Shox for a rebuild. I sent it 2nd day air so I would get it back in time for this practice session. I called last week to check on it. They said it would be a 7 to 10 business days before they would have it done. I asked when did they receive the shock. The guys said it went on their system on Wed. I restated that I wanted to know when they receive my shock. His reply was that he had no idea and it didn't matter....it takes 7-10 business days from when it goes on their system. I quickly checked the tracking record online. They had received the shock 8 days earlier than they entered it on their sytem. Needless to say, I was very pissed off. :x

So, I will not be able to come and play this weekend.

unfortunately, me and my wife are going to have to withdraw from this event. We were all set, and very excited to go, except a very close friend of hers' father passed away very suddenly yesterday, and we will be attending the funeral Saturday afternoon. I really hope I didn't miss my only chance at mucho seat time, I really need it, but unfortunately, my wife needs me more.

Sounds just like what I went through when I had my Xbox 360 repaired. Days of it just sitting around at their warehouse/repair center and nothing happening. :banghead:

Brice, sorry to hear about your father-in-law's friend.

Rob, I have a small selection of Fox and Fox4 Mustang rear shocks, including a pair for an IRS Cobra, that you are welcome to. A 4" increase in rear ride height shouldn't hurt....

OK, folks we're getting close. The rent and insurance have been paid, the bus has been pre-positioned at the Super-Secret Bahamian Above-Ground Lair. and Huey.. er... Jim Pastorious is fine-tuning a special turn-around sweeper exercise whose details he won't even divulge to me. You'll have to be there to find out what it is :)

For the participants, I have a couple of requests :

1) Can anybody bring along an EZ-UP type canopy? I bought one last week, would like have one or two more on hand to offer some shade when you're not in the car or shagging cones.

2) Also, if you have a big cooler that you can bring filled with ice, the organizers will bring bottled water and reimburse you for the ice.

It's not too late to sign up!

Art,
A few notes.

1. There are like 5-6 cases of water and two coolers I left in the bus from the Rallycross. Just add ice.

2. My Not-so-easy up is on the bus and I will set it up that morning when I get there.

There's a Food Lion right across the street from the site if you don't want to schlep ice across state lines.

I believe they are taking the "bus" up on Friday afternoon. Probably set up one of the sections Friday.

With a little help Saturday morning, it will take about 30 minutes to set everything up.

Yes, Gwen, Bernie and I will be doing to do a basic set-up Friday afternoon. It won't be perfect, as we have to leave something for Jim P to tweak Saturday morning :)

And thanks for the cooler/water/ice info, that will save a lot of trouble, and thanks for the ez-up offers.

We'll be bringing the truck so we can bring our EZ up.

If anyone is interested, the last time I was at Northern Tool they had decent looking 10x10 EZ ups (not EZ-up brand, a knock off) for 69.00.
